good question I must say that it really does help the match angler like me. accuracy is the main bonus but also it can be fun. by the way you can get poles that can land big fish 10lb+ and some are 2k because thay are light, strong and are faster than the normal pole. My poles, Maver strongarm, is great, its light, strong(ive had fish to well over 10lb and a few big hales)and i love it. I must admit though that i would rather fish a rod any day.

I hate this time of year. the new season on the river is coming and although you can have some really good days on the fisheries they haven't really woken up yet. one day you go and catch 50lb next day you cant get a bit. anyway good luck to everyone who is going to be takleing a river come june 16th and i hope you catch loads. anyone who is out there and has never tried there local river because you 'can't be bothered' or 'ive never had a good day on a river' try it it can be great fun. im not a carp angler myself and i wound not know if they were getting bigger but I blame the fishery owners. they can restrict fatty bait ofr sell specially made low fat baits to there customers.

im not an expert but i would stay of the groundbait. i fish a really old pond by me and grounbait kills the day. I would try a worm for both species.

All you that think that it is rite to kill any fish are stupid. you may not have thought that if we (anglers) put areselfs across as killers then we will not have a hobby for much longer. anyway it wasn't the zanders fault they got into are rivers it was whoever put them theres fault why not kill them? the zander my kill fish, and we may have too many preds in are waters but killing them is not the answer. good idea though to introduce a zander killer but we are solving a problem by causeing another problem. i m sure that the zander will live n peace soon just like all the other fish we have introduced.

as many of you may of heard the river dee was badly polluted last year and it looks like the culprite is not going to be found. they recone it will take 15 yrs to get back to full strength. anyway i heard of a few nice catches coming out at the end of the last season is there anyone out there that caught anything good since the pollution? any info will help.
