  1. I think this boat is double skinned. The space between is foam filled. Any damage to the outer shell causes water to seep into the foam and after a while becomes completely water logged. The only cure is to completely remove the inner skin, take out all the foam and repair the glass fibre outer. Its a big and very messy job. I would find out what the boat should weigh and take it some where to be weighed. If its much more than it should be, leave well alone. Owen
  2. I've found it. Its on page 28 of Walker's Pitch and the quote reads, "Chub 'come unscared' in about ten minutes to the pound!" I thought it was twenty minutes too until I checked. Owen
  3. I have always thought it strange that I have never seen a ruffe on Lomond. Roach, bream, chub, dace, gudgeon, powan, pike, perch, trout but not one ruffe. Hundreds from Loch Ken though but only in the last ten years or so. Owen
  4. The loch level had been lowered for some reason and I saw several carp of a few pounds bow waving in the shallow water. I remember seeing one fish quite clearly and it was fully scaled. Don't know if it was a wildy though or where they originated from. Owen
  5. Here's a few more Saul: St Margarets Loch, Edinburgh - or there were in the early eighties. Craighlaw Loch, Newton Stewart Cowans Farm Pond, Kirkgunzeon and one at Eaglesfield, Annan. I am sure there must be some more in the south west. Owen
  6. Its now in todays Galloway News. Alongside it is a letter from the CA encouraging people to attend the march in London and on the opposite page a feature about the march.
