  1. Well done. Its not the size of the fish but the memories of the day that count.
  2. Good luck. From what i hear he is a nice bloke and pretty good at what he does.
  3. My old man is a chef, it should NOT do that
  4. But are the three legged ones supposed to be more stable?
  5. What makes you "professional", is there a course in guiding to take? What makes you think that it was me "playing with the toy boat" as you said QUOTE : "when you clearly don't even know what i look like" Well Mr bettell YOU clearly don't know what I look like so how can you assume that it was me with the boat. ( Pot, kettle, black ) Why the hell would i want to follow you, There is more to fishing than catching big fish and if you have lost sight of that then i feel sorry for you. QUOTE: I have not seen so few anglers fishing the area in the last five years - I rarely ever see more than three other boats pike fishing during the course of my daily movements. Well on my local river i can fish the whole day and not see another boat fishing, so three of four boats all lined up along the margins is a lot to me. Once again i apologise for the mistaken idenity and for my inapropiate posts on this board, if you don't want to accept my appology thats up to you. i will be deleting my posts on sunday when i get back so that others don't get the wrong impression of you and me. 6. Now Now Charlie calm down  If that wasnt you who we asked and then who turned up right next to us then i appologise. must have been one of the other "guide services" Yes we saw them too, highly amusing
  7. Your soul is worth £7906. For your peace of mind, 85% of people have a purer soul than you
  8. Ive never heard of this done before and never really thought about adding extra attraction to lures. I a bit curious as to how you attach them, On the trace? glued to the lure? hmmmm
  9. LOL You know what i mean.
  10. Can someone recomend a good bedchair, preferebly (sp) a three legged one and for around £50. Now the reason this is in the coarse section and not the long session carp section is because i intend to use it for pike fishing, get to the swim the night before and set up ready for the morning. Let me stress the point that im NOT boilie bashing Thankyou
  11. originally posted by rogerb quote: How can you sleep in the rain and not get wet? I mean even with a pull cord at the top some will still get in??? The bag has a waterproof overwrap and atached to that at the head end is the bag that the whole thing packs in to, this is slung over the face opening to keep everything nice and dry, i suppose this will work if you dont move around in your sleep too much . I did say you could sleep in torrential rain if you really wanted to, not that i have any plans to do this in the near future
  12. Well im back from my hols and had a great time. Between me and my mate we had 136lb of pike in five days fishing,15lb being the biggest and 5lb the smallest. Peter, we were moored in oulton dike for three days (wed, thur, fri) and did several laps round the broad in the dinghy but never saw you. Tried the spot you suggested and had a jack jump out of the water as i was lifting the lure and bit the tail of a brand new castaic , twelve quid gone. Most of our pike came from around oulton, and one spot produced three fish in 20 mins to a rattling fat D, all of them over 10lb and one at 15lb (my biggest on a lure). Surlingham was quite good aswell 12lb being the biggest, as for rockland, we got there on that very windy day and as they are dredging or whatever they are doing we gave it a miss and continued down to oulton. We saw charlie, his clients looked very bored indeed when we asked what they had caught we the reply of "f***all mate" from one of them, we told the what we had and headed back to the broad, then guess what, 10 mins later charlie comes chugging along and starts fishing . I was very surprised how many people were fishing the yare for pike most of them "guide services", we dont see that on the waveney thank god. All in all a very good week.
  13. quote: Competition. Championship. Verification of large catch OK, point taken but is winning a competition, chapionship more important than fish welfare.
  14. cheers peter Can't wait to get out on the water again, its been a few weeks now and i starting to get withdrawl symptoms
  15. The one on at the moment is the second series and its nowhere near as good as the first. It helps if you are a bit.... relaxed when watching
  16. Jackpike I had the fox pike tube, used it once then sold it, it has no support rings down the length of it so the meterial keeps falling against the pikes flanks. As apache says they are very lively when you come to photographing or weighing them. If yo do insist on using one you have to make sure that the pike is facing the flow and check it regularly to make sure it doesnt go belly up. But in my opinion they are more hassle to the fish and you than they are worth. [ 17. September 2003, 06:57 PM: Message edited by: Bulster ]
  17. I heard of an instance in essex where the bas***s were using weed rakes to dredge the fish from the lake
  18. quote: Had you come up this past Sunday, fished where I p.m.'ed, starting about 0600, then you might have had three of 'em. Its been a real frenzy time! They'll be stuffed by the week-end . Now why would you want to torture me like that ( Stuffed ) The mighty Bulster with his magic retrieve will tempt even the fullest pike
  19. Budgie's advice is very good but i went for the british army Arctic mk2 sleeping bag with the waterproof overwrap. Never been cold in it once and you can sleep in the open in torrential rain if you want and still be warm and dry. it also has rip zips that come open very easily, i got mine from a surplus store for 35 quid. Bargain
  20. quote: Hi Johnny. Lots of people are telling you how difficult it will be with your rod but nobody has asked you which Hyperloop you have quote: i have recently started fishing with a quivertip/feeder rod (shimano hyperloop) Nuff said [ 15.
