Fished the waveney on sunday, absolute rubbish, had one bait picked up and then dropped at first light but that was it. That Steve Burke bloke is trouble i tell ya, i told the missus i HAD to go fishing cos i was certain to catch that bloomin 20lber.

I have just returned from my annual week on the broads, and what an unusual week it was. We are 99% positive we saw a seal on the waveney. A deer swimming accross the river bure. A dog swimming in the middle of the river with the BIGGEST goose in the world in its mouth and at How Hill the biggest flock of birds i have ever seen in my life, now us not being bird people and it was dusk we don't know what they were (gratefull if anyone can tell me) but there were THOUSANDS of them the sight and sound when they all took off from the reeds and twisted and turned in the sky was amazing. Ive got a couple of shamefully bad pictures of thisthat i will post when i remember how to do it. If you have ever had the privilage of seeing this you will understand. Oh and we had 17 pike from 2lb (well done ian ) to 16lb 8oz. P.S. I also think i managed to not upset CB thisyear.

Very interesting programme indeed, especially the underwater shots of pike, that is something i have hardly ever seen. Some of the information given has completely flumoxed (i love that word) me. I always thought a bit of colour in the water was a good thing and in my experience usually is, but this programme says otherwise.

Just got back on the net after moving house. Its been nearly four months Lots of new members i see Looking forward to catching up

Saw it again tonight, Sadly no picture ( those digital cameras don't half drain batteries ) Ferrett, the first picture you posted looks very much like it. Im going to set up camp in the area, This has really started to bug me :mad:

My mate managed to talk one of the very large rapala trade lures out of the bloke in Wroxham angling centre (can't for the life of me remember his name) Took about an hour of persuasion It looks very good hanging in the tackle room.

Dave, that picture looks very much like it but the white on the wings was clearly visible. quote: Is the white visible from above the bird? Four days ago i saw a fantastic sight, I was biking home from work when about 300 yards in front of me up in the canopy of a large tree i saw a big bunch of white feathers erupt from the top, then a pidgeon fly towards the open field being tailed by the most impressive bird i have ever seen it swooped on the pidgeon, caught it and landed in the field where the potatoes blocked my view, i watched for a few minutes then saw the bird fly off into the distance Then tonight, i saw it again but a bit closer this time, It had wing span of about 1 metre, it was brown with a lighter colour head and had about four white feathers on the wing tips with brown feathers separating them. Ive looked on the RSPB website and an Eagle is the only thing that resembles it. http://www.rspb.org.uk/birds/guide/w/white...eagle/index.asp But this cannot be possible because even i know that Eagles are only found in scotland If anyone has any ideas as to what else it could be i would be very grateful. Im always warm and welcoming peter, but then im not a true native, parents moved here from billericay in essex when i was 4. Did you see my earlier post about Phil Hoadley. I mention it because i have been going out with his daughter for the past 10 years,good player he was too untill that stupid f****** ref ran into him and ruined his career.

If you are with BT kendo give them a call and tell them about it. It worked for me.

Move to the broads jeepster!!! £46 quid for a years toll on an 11 foot electric powered dinghy. Much simpler

As previously suggested a boat is a must on the broads. Rikster is also right when mentioning hirecraft, they can be a pain in the arse to an angler, but then as a regular cruiser user myself maybe i shouldn't complain . Why not hire a cruiser, its like camping but you can move from place to place, and come late in the season, say the end of september or the begining of october, this is when i go and its surprising how many holiday makers ignore the broads when it gets a bit nippy cheaper too
