I was walking in the Great Haywood area near Stafford and saw a club sign for Shugborough Angling club. But can't find any information on the web about the club, waters or who to contact. Just wondering if anyone knows about them?

I'll look out for you. I don't fish it that often, usually just nip down for a few hours in the evening. Fish the Dove mainly. Fished Hooks Green two evenings since the close season, once after fishing another pool for tench the other after work. Both times caught a good number of good sized carp on crust.

Thanks all for your advice. Think I'm sorted now. Tried one of Stone privates pools yesterday morning from first light caught a few tench to 4lb then at lunchtime moved to one of Burslem Izaak waltons pools which is only 5 minutes drive from the stone pool. caught about a dozen carp to 13lb before dark. Excellent day should keep me entertained until June 16th

Thanks Sean. Joined Stone private mainly because their pools are local, still not seen anyone fishing them. Only really after a bit of sport till the river season start.

I'm looking for some advice on tench fishing in North Staffordshire. Not looking for massive fish just would like the chance to catch a few, in nice surroundings. Had a look at Stone private and Fenton and district. Both clubs websites say their waters contain tench. Had a look round dilhorne nice looking pools but there were a lot of people fishing. Looked at stones waters but seen no one fishing, so couldn't ask anyone. Really looking for a smallish pool which isn't heavily fished. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Have you tried Burslem Izaak Walton they have a couple of pools near Stoke. Loads of carp.
