  1. I'll be in Northampton, down in between Sixfields and Blackwood Hodge roundabout , if any one knows it. There's a Rezy near there too, but not sure if you can fish there.
  2. Hi all, Tuesday or Wednesday , I'm going to be going down my local canal for a try. What fish am I like to be pulling out? as apposed to River fishing. I'll be taking worm, maggott and some bread bait.
  3. The last sentence was right over my head bud. Anyhow the new rods the 12ft feeder. Are Fishtec usually pretty good with delivery?
  4. Not strictly an injury, but I'd say it counts. I had a phone call whilst fishing. You see that morning I'd recieved a letter in the post informing me of a nice tax rebate of just over 1200quid, I'd neglected to read it thoroughly and gone off thinking "Happy days". Back to the phone call...3pm. Turns out the cash had been put into my ex's account, our old joint account. She just rang to tell me she'd spent the lot! Ouch!
  5. I'll whisper incase he can hear......One's going to be for my son for Xmas

  13. Nice one guys! I'll have a look at all of the above, Cheers
  14. Thanks all, I'd be chuffed to get a Tench, beautiful fish! I'm not one of these to be only on the hunt for Carp the size of an outhouse.
  15. Thanks for the advice all. I'm liking the idea of the float stops, exactly the kind of thing I was after and slighty better than my first idea of using bits of blue tack
  16. Hi all, Is there any one or any organisation that gives lessons? I looked into how much it would cost to spend 2 days with Matt Hayes and his colleague...Oh my God thats expensive considering I reckon you'd only actually get between 1 to 2 hours one to one with the teacher. I'm in the East Midlands
  17. Hi all, another question which I'm sure sounds a daft one....... Are boilies just for Carp or are other species lovin em too?
  18. I'm understanding using the plummet weight itself, I mean do I have to use for example swan shot either side of the float? as I'm told moving shot up and down the line can damage it.
  19. Hi all, people.....When Plumming the depth, is there some small device that can clamp or stick your float into place? or do you have to put a couple of shot on the line? I only ask as I worry about moving shot up and down the line damaging it.
  20. Hi all, Could some one please advise me on the differences/ advantages of using a Bait Runner Reel when Feeder fishing? I've never used one.
  21. When using a method feeder for Carp of Tench, how often do people recommend re-casting a fresh one if you're not getting a bite? Assuming that I'm putting the hook in the same spot each cast.
  22. Yeah Rats too. Me and a friend, a few years ago, were helping a farmer out as we were staying on his land for a couple of weeks doing some building work for him. We were staying in an old caravan next to a grain barn. Anyway, middle of the night, 2ish. We both heard noises coming from the barn. We both grabbed got up, me mate grabbed a shovel and torch, I picked up the 12 bore. We entered the barn, pitch black. Sphincter factor of 8/10. My mate switched on the torch and all you could see across the barn floor were dozen of very small bright eyes (Rats) The barn floor was covered in corn and dust. As I shot at one that was about 10ft in front of me, due to the force of the shot, combined with the slippy corn covered floor, my feet flew forwards and up in the air, I land flat on my back totally knocking the wind out of me. Quickly followed by a heavy splat of the dead Rat landing on my chest!! Since this day I can say with no embarrassement that I'm scared of em, and I hate the evil looking blighters!!
  23. Hi all, This'll seem a real stupid question I'm sure. But I'm new to fishing and have loadsa questions. Is there a closed season for River fishing?
