  1. Hi all I am still tyring to track down spare parts for my ABU 507 , Nigel thinks he can sort out my reel for the short term. so I am still looking for the Winding cup (rooter). Gary at The Mill's tackle company said he might be able to help how ever he is hard to get hold of as he works and repairs part time . Thanks in advance for any suggestions [ 23.     Newark and sourouding aeras are mostly day ticket's at £3 daily a lot of good waters. There are also many water around the £5 mark Bobs Island , Kingfishers . Any help around this area send me an email and I'll do my best to answer. mdg

  5. Hi Guys and Dolls I would like some help please in finding some spares for my old ageing Abu 507. Its getting on for over twenty five years and I love this real caught many good fish on it, the parts that I am after are the winding cup as the spring loading is not working correctly. Any old parts would be welcome I have had 3 suppliers which now have no parts.   8. Does any one know where I can get a true reading for fish Length v Weight. The reason for the intreast my mate had a fish the other day had no scales and put it against his landing net which is 26 inches the fish was about 28 , My guess it's a barbel around 9 -10lbs Barbel .   11. Infomation arived from Shakespear Yesertday that was very quick indeed espicialy considering the time of year. thanks to everyone and happy christmas one and all

You lot have all brought back happy memories , as a kid i used to buy books and bits of tackle from good old woolies I have some of the books i also have some Leisure books they used to sell as for there tackel I bought my first reel from them. Thanks for this thread it is a trip down memory lane.

  18. Thanks for trying guys they are about the right floats , however they are pricy as you say I was looking for the Leeder ones , more as they are not so expencive. Wat about the heavy full boidied waglers ?????

  20. Do any of you guys and dolls know where I might buy these floats at a reasonable price . leeda used to make this style of floats a while ago for around £1.20 ish. They are mainly basla body and crow quill. Used for trotting all rivers, I use them on a center pin as they hold back very well. Second part of the thread on floats I am also looking for heavy bodied wagglers (NOT CARP) for deep lakes 3 - 8 AAA. Thanks for any help MDG [ 15.   22. I belive it to be aroud the £1.50 mark in Lincoln. However I normaly go to Newark and buy direct form the maggot farm . around 6-8 pints for a fiver . but these days I use more Halibut pellets & Lunchon meat for Barbel. Tight Line All
