I did see a few splashy rolls in Top bay this May around Top Hump area which I think may have been bream - there did seem to be less weed as well down there as its fairly deep. Hopefully the weed clearing is going well because last time I fished there (2 weeks ago) it was thick with weed. Cheers and good luck

The Sussex Ouse at Freshfield bridge beat its 2007 record by 10cm, nearly 3m above normal level.

I fished through there a couple of times and had plenty of bream on the feeder on pellets, (at night). It is quite well known for barbel, my mate who I was with had a small one and a guy just up from us also had one. As for carp I don't know, there were a couple of guys bivied up, although bivi's are not allowed on that stretch if I remember correctly.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time doing angling related stuff. I have a pretty big collection of angling books, some of which I have read numerous times, the same with angling DVD's. I tend to buy two or three of the angling monthlies plus AT & mail every week. I always seem to be making list for my next session (gear to take, baits to prepare or buy), notes on where I should fish next & how to fish it. Most days I have a look on here and Tenchtalk. When I can, I enjoy taking a walk around my my local water - fish spotting & chatting to some of the anglers - Im just realising how flippin obsessed I am!! I also love sorting out my gear, making rigs etc. As I only get out about once a week I probably spend more time doing these things than I do actually fishing. My name is Steve and I'm a Fishaholic

Latestarter This time of year I have had tench from small commercials while perch fishing by using chopped worm. Generally I chop up a good handful of dendrabenas add a handful of maggot and feed this in, chop a couple of lobs into two or three and put them in as well. Fish with half a dendrabena on the hook with a couple of maggots, if its a mixed fishery you should get bites fairly quickly. keep feeding 20 or so maggots every 10 to 15 minutes then every hour feed another batch of the chopped worm (amounts of feed can be upped depending on how much your catching). Also try half a lob worm on the hook every half hour or so, can pick out the bigger perch. caster is also great to feed in with worm. As the temp drops the tench will get harder to catch, although I have had them in December - so get back out there before it gets too cold Good Luck kingy

Im a regular at Ardingly, this time of year the water is usually at full level - went down last week to find a 60-80 foot walk to the waters edge, which prob equates to about 10-12 in depth.

Once caught a tench whilst spinning for perch, the tench totally engulfed the spinner - took it on the drop. Very odd
