Hello All, I fishied a fishery near Whitchurch, Shropshire called Villa Farm a few weeks back and this is where i caught my first bream, just fished a dipper pole loat with double red maggot on a size 16 hook, this is what appeared on the end... Following that i had a little tench on same rig but with a peice of corn on... Also this barbel was from a different fishery in Cheshire called New Farm Fishery, 3 pools middle pool is what i fished on, Barbel, Tench, Chub, Mirror, F1's? and Goldfish It's not a massive Barbel but it's my first ever barbel and it gave a awesome fight for a little fish! better than some of the bigger carp i have had previously! Anyways here it is and ill be fishing it real soon again... Anyone know if there is barbel in the River Weaver, Nantwich, Cheshire? Many Thanks Callum (New here so please be nice )

River Weaver in Cheshire, Nantwich? Float fishing, feeder fishing or ledger (Don't really like ledger tho) or pole? i cant wait to start fishing again! Thanks for all your comments its been awesome! P.S: Its good that its closed for couple months as my baby is due any day now so gives me time to be with her before the river opens again!

So from reading previous posts its better to go chub fishing at night than in the day time? or is this just threw the winter period... i wouldnt even know where to start with chub fishing as i havnt fished the river in years, bait? set-up? even rod? Any information would be much appreciated... Very nice fish to finish it off there!

Ahh thanks very much for that i wouldnt of known this, Canal fishing? is that off limits aswell? This will be first thing i will sorted is license Nantwich Angling i will be joining as they own the rivers around my area. Callum

My aim this year is to actually go fishing and catch some nice fish! i did still fishing but im going river fishing going for maybe 3lb chub or bigger? (dont know where bigger chub are lol)

Hello all, I am looking to get back into river fishing as my stuff got stolen a couple years back! (The sods! ) but recently i have been buying bits and bobs over the months! Any tips on river fishing with feeder rods? as i have never fished with a feeder always been pole fishing (stupid i know) Only reason im exploring more is as i want to go for chub (mainly but happy with anything) just i dont really know much about how to fish a river with currents etc... (Previously fished lakes / pits so standing water) Any help would be much appreciated Callum
