  1. Peter, The nets similar to the one in the picture newt posted have a hoop diameter of up to 24". Some fold in half to reduce amount of space being used. Most have handles that telescope up to about 36" in length. The nets are made of a single piece web of rubber. No knots at all. JT Bagwell
  2. Newt, I don't know what I thought was more humorous, the picture or your reply to the other guys question. Short Simple "Probably Not" I don't know why I thought that was so funny. JT Bagwell
  3. Polly, As Newt mentioned earlier, the rubber landing nets are great. There are two companies that produce high quality nets. They are Frabill and Ranger. The handles on these nets telescope so they will take up less space. I am not sure of the availability of these products outside the U.S. if you would like I can check for you. JT Bagwell
  4. Newt, I talked to the company today and they said as soon as their registration expired that other company bought the domain name and is trying to sell it back at a profit. So the new permanent web address is http://www.roguefishingrods.com JT Bagwell
  5. Ok Newt, I found out that there was some sort of crash with the orginal Rogue Rods website. So they have a new web address. http://www.roguefishingrods.com JT Bagwell
  6. Newt, I don't know whats going on with the Rogue Rods site. I emailed them to see what the problem is. It used to be if you go to the site it was nothing but a huge selection of rods. Maybe they will get it fixed soon. JT Bagwell
  7. Richard, The web address for Rogue Rods is http://www.roguerods.com Definately check them out. If you are interested I can find out if international shipping is available. JT Bagwell
  8. Newt, Thanks for voting. You need to get off your wallet and buy those G. Loomis rods. LOL Just kidding but, you should look at Rogue Rods. They are very comparable to Loomis for about half the price. Have a great new year everyone. JT Bagwell
  9. Hey everyone, I just wanted to tell you that I have made a few updates to my home page, including a new poll. Place your votes and tell me what you think. http://www.qcbassfishing.8k.com JT Bagwell
  10. I personally don't know what to believe. Color is obviously a very important factor when catching fish. Here is an example from this past season. My friend and I were fishing a point on a highly pressured lake. We were in about 15 feet of water. I was using a Watermelon Seed colored tube lizard with black flakes on a Carolina rig. Before long I started nailing the bass. I think I had about 8 before my friend had one. So obviously he wanted to use what I was using. The problem was, he didnt own any of these lures. So I reached into my bag and gave him a package of watermelon seed tube lizards. The only difference between the ones I was using and the ones I gave him was very minimal so I thought. My lures had Black flakes and the package I gave him had Red flakes. After about 30 minutes I had boated a bunch more bass and he had only hooked one little fish. So I decided to switch with him. I took the baits with Red flakes and gave him the lures with the Black flakes. Before long the roles had been reversed, he was catching and I was doing nothing more than casting. Of course since all the lures were mine, I took back the package with the black flakes. LOL This just goes to show that color is a very vital aspect in getting fish to strike a lure. JT Bagwell
  11. Newt, Didn't I say the same thing awhile back in reference to fishing a drop shot on heavy tackle during the spawn? or was I talking to someone else about that? LOL JT Bagwell
  12. My goodness some of those carp are HUGE. No wonder you boys like to fish for those things. JT Bagwell
  13. I myself have had words with PETA in the past. For the most part I let them know my dislike for their organization but, I kept it at a professional level. One thing I would like to stress to anyone considering contacting PETA. Be Careful What You Say. The last thing we (anglers) need is someone shooting off at the mouth and saying something that may make the fishing community as a whole look bad or unintelligent. If you do contact them please pick and chose your words carefully and maintain a professional attitude. Thanks JT Bagwell
  14. Dave, If you fill your spool about a third of the way with monofilament and then tie the Braided line to the mono it will prevent the slippage you are referring to. This is common practice here in the U.S. among bass pros' when using braided line. JT Bagwell
  15. Newt, If I were going to fish this area, I would pull within about 50 yards or the dam. My weapons of choice would be a heavy jig and a deep diving crankbait. With the jig I would cast all the way to the dam and let the current bounce the jig downstream. Using the crankbaits I would just cast towards all the shallow points and work the bait back. I would also cast towards the area where the strong and weak currents meet each other. Another area I would be sure to hit hard are the bridge supports that are down river from that dam. I might also try a jigging spoon. Area there Spotted Bass in this area? JT Bagwell
  16. I would check Basspro.com or cabelas.com to see if they have them and inquire about international shipping. JT Bagwell
  17. The obvious rule of thumb is Big Baits = Big Fish I know personally that you can catch more fish using smaller, less intimidating baits but for example during a tournament, once I get a limit I through nothing but big baits. I target nothing but bigger fish. Most of the time I will use a bigger jig or a 10-12 inch worm. Jeremiah T. Bagwell
  18. You want my opinion on the best fish attract? I have two words for you....... MEGA STRIKE You will not find a better fish attractant on the market. This product is mainly used for lure fishing but I am sure that it will work equally as well on live bait rigs. Jeremiah T. Bagwell
  19. This is a very exciting time for me. I have had my articles on several american sites but, never anything in a different country. My goal is to help as many people as I can, catch more fish. I also hope to learn from all of my new friends at anglersnet. I have already learned so much from you guys about the cultural differences as well as the angling difference between our countries. This is a friendship that I hope will continue to grow and last a long time. Thanks Everyone Jeremiah T. Bagwell
  20. My finest moment was winning the Exelon Nuclears' Fishing for a cure charity tournament. All proceeds went to the beth ann miller meningitis foundation. The tournament was near chicago and I had been there a few weeks earlier and pledged to the tournament director that if I won the event I would donate 20% of my paycheck to the charity. I won the event so I donated 20% of my check. It was a great feeling to help a good cause and all I had to do was fish. JT Bagwell
  21. Elton, You are 100% correct about fish liking something different. There are certain lakes I go to that you couldn't by a strike from a fish on certain baits. But if you through a lure at them that is totally new to them you can catch lots of fish. That is one of the reasons the "Creature Baits" were so popular for awhile. They were something totally unseen before. JT Bagwell
  22. Elton, I used Rapala lures for many years and they are awesome baits. For some reason I stopped using them a few years back. I don't really know why. But, If you can get ahold of a Lucky Craft lure I would give it a try. JT Bagwell
  23. Newt, Those are great questions and will be totally honest with you. As far as Worminators Custom hand poured baits are concerned, different styles have different hardnesses. Some are very soft and will last about as long a Yamamoto Senko. Others on the other hand are more durable. The key factor in both though is whether you are willing to spend a little bit more for a bait that is going to catch more fish but won't last quit as long. To make a correction on your second question, I use Lucky Craft not Lucky Strike. These are two very different brands. As you mentioned Lucky Craft lures are a little expensive. I can honestly say that I caught tons of fish on these lures this year. You are right about them costing 3 or 4 times as much as other brands. Part of this expense is the hooks. Lucky Craft uses Daiichi hooks. These hooks alone are kind of expensive. The quality of the baits is beyond compare. You can buy 6 of a cheaper brand of lure and 3 of them might run true right out of the box where as each Lucky Craft will run true. I hope this doesn't sound like a sales pitch because it honestly wasn't intended to be. I am just giving my opinion. JT Bagwell
  24. The rods I use are by Rogue rod company. They are very comparable to G. Loomis but a lot lower in price. $125 - $165 very good quality. How much is £100 in U.S. dollars? I am trying to get an idea of what you guys pay for rods and other fishing equipment. JT Bagwell
  25. Piker, You may also want to take a look at the Bleeding Bait treble hooks from Daiichi. These hooks give your bait the illusion that it is bleeding. It is proven that baits that appear to be bleeding will out perform other lures. JT Bagwell http://www.qcbassfishing.8k.com
