Large and Medium, the medium one is in a good condition for its age the large size is functional but looks a bit tattie around the edges Also Intrepid Fastbacks " quite rare these are " Medium size, nice condition. All these reels I've mentioned are many years old and where made by Intrepid, when they where an independant company, not under the " Gladding " banner so too speak, if any of them interest you by all means email me..... cheers Seahogfisher@hotmail.com

    6500 mag mods

For Sea Fishing Elites need no modifications, for long distance casting on grass they do, its best to have it done professionally. Fishing and Over the ground casting are two different disciplines really, as in Rough Shooting and Clay pigeon shooting ……. There are people that will tune your reel for you but the very best tuners are thin on the ground …….

  18. I understand that you have not had the lamp long and also not used a great deal likewise.........that said it sounds as if the generator has gone, it happened to me after little use......when replaced all was ok...........cost approx £5 - £8......as best as I can remember.........
  19. Think that sums it up Geoff.........I take it you are talking about the very deep waters off the Scottish coast.....correct me if I'm wrong Geoff......I do a lot of boat fishing....and the bite detection is excellent, using braid......I'm not downing braid whatsoever........but for Beach fishing....I personally like yourself and others think it not the answer.......I am talking full on beach fishing.......not spinning etc
  20. Must admit, I for one found it a very good read........dreams of warm seas......sun beaming down.........massive takes.......... Then I woke up.........******* down as ever......well we all can dream
  21. no so = not so...........
  22. Must agree, in my opinion braid is not really suited for full on beachcasting.....thats my opinion......I'm sure others will disagree ! Braid is best used from a boat.......and when you have a tidal pull.....otherwise it just coils on its self, and you will soon regret using it........you must always use a shockleader with braid, if you don't you will be amazed at the number of time your line will part........from reading the above, braid it would appear, doesn't have a lot going for it........no so.......braid can be fantastic to use..........just a word of warning dont use the same breaking strain braid as you would use mono........go 10-20lb more........you will still benefit from lower diameter line......
  23. In my own personl instance.......it was not to do with Alan Yates......it was not to do with the Sea Angler Magazine......it was not to do with the alledged handling/mis-handling of the Skate or indeed the reference to the alledged size of the fish.......other people took up these point far better than I could ever have done........ " It was all to do with MEL RUSS'S attitude " I feel he was arrogant and unprofessional, and has not shown any respect to his ( customers ) readers.......I feel there are many people out there, that given the chance will/could do a far better job of editor than Mel Russ.
  24. Selling an Abu 7000 C3.......in a beautiful condition........£70 p&p.............probably has never been used ! If your interested please check out the for sale section of this forum..........cheers ...........Seahogfisher@hotmail.com..............
  25. This reel is in a very good condition......personally I dont think this reel has ever had line on it, let alone been used for fishing..........that said I can not be 100% sure, so therefore I will sell this reel as secondhand........also I don't have the box. Abu 7000 C3 are an excellent reel, they are at home on the beach or on board a boat.......has the usual features........synchronised level wind, non-slip spool......line out alarm.....and the higher retrieve rate 5.3:1.......also has a securing clamp..........excellent reels...will last for many years to come...... ................£70 & p&p......................
