  1. Has any 1 heard or fished this place? i'm having trouble hitting the bites here and i have only had 4 fish out... 2 5lb common 1 8lb common and 1 9lb 8oz common, these all took the rod with a thump and 1 even took it in, of course i went in after it . any help would be apprieciated loads!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I was all syked up, 4oz ahead and i was going for it, weather was looking good, all my bait for the carp was defrosted, i had planned my attack for different pegs! then before i left at 11am to get to the last match of the season the phone rings...... it turns out that work had 3 sickeys and had no staff, what can you do! i hoped for every 1 to blank but no! 2nd place took a 9lb carp thats my 4oz out the window! then 3rd place took a 15lb carp, thats 2nd place out the window! My buddie phones up after to tell me i've finished the season in 3rd place! all my hard work out the window!
  3. I was fishing a match today and the lake we fished had a groundbait ban. Half way thru the match i noticed some1 throwing iin a ball of what i would class as groundbait, after confronting him he said... "i made it my self and it is 4 eggs, a bag of pellet, cat meat and bread crumb put in a blender, well if thats not groundbait im the queen, can i please have your views? they will be well apriecated. thanks, ed
  4. To be fair we have done our fair bit for the sport already... Barbed hooks are almost banned nationwide, most new and up to date venues have barrels for dipping nets in to clean them, air filters in the water, bans on baits. these are just a few steps that have been taken. As for killing or being cruel to fish, pollution kills more than us "anglers" do, Hunting in my gview is barbaric, but fishing isnt like killing a fox using guns and dogs, its a peaceful sport that people like us like. How many of you go fishing just to catch fish? how many like to sit in nice weather with the rod out not careing for a net full but just a few? how many look at the scenary and the wildlife? In my view thats what a course angler is, like you say "UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL" If we are anglers we will not let them go as far as ruining our Beautiful Sport!
  5. I know this is off the topic but i just bought fishsim2 and cant find any lincolnshire venues, if any knows where i can get some please could you let me know. Thank you

    Spraying!!!

Floating pole??? you'd be looking at your pole 1 minute, then the next bye bye, they take it so quick you dont know until your elastic is 2/3 foot out! its just too fast and i think you'd be looking to buy a new pole after that 1 gets thiefed by a carp

    Spraying!!!

Were you spraying??? Its a good tactic, i used it on saturday in my comp but it was just too hot for them i think, only 3lb 10oz came 3rd, winner was 5lb!

    Spraying!!!

Its a good tactic, the carp hook them selfs before you know it, on another point, i fished a match today and caught 3lb10oz of 1 bream & 1 tench. it was just too warm i suppose!
  11. At the end of a session how much bait is left?? ok in the end of a match how much bait is left, in my case a lot, if the other 10,11,12,13, etc people throw there bait in and you throw yours in how much bait has gone in??? more than they see in a week, it just makes the fish harder to catch cause they wont feed some days. Ground bait is the worst cause it i ban on some still waters cause too much goes in! i never use it in hot weather cause i spray (refer to "spraying" topic) so whats wrong with putting 1 bag of pellets in in 3 hours as apose to pint of maggot, tin of hemp, tin of corn and loads of ground bait??? Your desision!

    Spraying!!!

ok, at the end of the day how much bait do you throw in in a session????? i know i get thru a bag of pellets in 3 hours when doing this, and have many carp in the net. but if i was on corn/maggot on the bottom how much bait would go in then (not to mention ground bait). it is fun, you should try it, and the fish fight harder than ever. Give it a go and then critisise it if you dont like it!!!
  13. Nice 1 buddy, my first barbel was only 3/4oz so was my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc my biggest is only about 1/2lb but there pit barbel not rier. Huge congratulations to you buddy.
  14. Just thought i should tell you about a not very well known tactic for carp. Today, (not the hottest of days) i fished a competition at a lake in lincolnshire, i won by over 15lb because i was "spraying". This tactic involes a pole, 1ft of line a float and lots of pellets, set up a very short rig and put the float very near the connector, then have 6inches of line before the hook, use about a size 14 with 5lb line, put a hookable pellet on and fish at about 11 meters in warm/hot weather, feed about 5-15 pellets every 30 seconds and just watch your pole, they dont wait around-they take it before you know it!!!! Hense the saying "Stretched Elastic"!!!
  15. It isnt just the way he plays the fish, is his annoying yibbida words!!!! I'd like to see him ban just for his stuppidness, and wouldnt you love to see buschy shave that tash!
