  1. Chris, no, neither I nor any of my family are serving in the Royal Navy, I'll actually be working in the Bishopstoke / Eastleigh area. The Itchen runs through there and it looks wonderfull, so different to the turbulent rivers / streams around these parts (S.Wales). I've also spotted a lovely looking pond in Bishops Waltham, superb pegs and lots of carp swimmimg just below the surface, but no one fishing  gray, we won't loose touch we've had to many laughs over the last year or so for that to happen. consider yourself invited, ( oh, suppose I ought to move the wife in first, second thoughts she does'nt fish ).I'll give you a call later. Any contacts for clubs / waters, etc. in the area would be much appreciated.

  7. Anyone have any info on fishing this river? Just booked a fortnight at a campsite on the river bank, so any info on the river and surrounding area would be greatly appreciated.

  11. I know this subject was covered recently and it had a thumbs down from the session carp anglers. As they rightly said the specimin lake is small and overpegged. However, me and the family had a short break there last week and I must say I thought the two "general" ponds were excellent. They cost £2 a day as opposed to £7 for the specimin carp pond. I loose fed 2 - 3 maggots regularly and started catching roach, then some "pasty" size carp and a beautiful crucian. Also hit something big and couldn't hold it on the light tackle. All in all decent fishing on a nice pond. So if you are going there, take some gear!
