After being away from fishing for a a while i would love to get back into it, a friend who has never fished before also wants to take it up. I know the basics about most of the concepts float, legering etc but i was wondering which is the best method to use to introduce someone into fishing? dont exactly know the species we will be targeting but a general idea of how to go about things the right way would be appreciated. Sorry if this sounds to general!

Will floating maggots be popped up off the bottom if they are used as the hookbait?

While in America i bought a six foot shimano spinning rod it has no test curve described anywhere on it. I know this is a very broad question but i was wondering what sort of lure fishing would be best suited to it in england? Thanks Dave

On a water that i fish bent hooks are banned. What are bent hooks? thanks Dave

i know that mustad manufactured three way swivels but dont know where you can buy them.

I also have problems when plumbing the depth. I know how to use one but i always find it difficult to cast accurately to the same place the float was before(if you know what i mean). Thanks Dave
