  1. Sorry Emma but up to a point I think that would make quite boring viewing. its not a given that the anglers have to catch, but it does make a huge difference in my opinion to the end product. in the filming that we have been doing, we have been keen to in general visit waters where anyone can go. So far that has been a fen land drain, river servern, river chelmer, a club run gravel pit and an open syndicate water. only one was on a private venue, but the venue has to be chosen to meet many different criteria, some of which wouldnt be immediately evident or particularly relevant to the fishing itself, but more to the filming restrictions. Also you cannot put just anyone on camera, as much as we would often like to, but some people just dont come across very well on TV and you kinda need to know that before you invest alot of time and money into filming. Another point worth considering is that on every tv show I have been involved with, you get one day to film, much of which will be taken up with getting the right shot, right spoken sequence to camera etc. the actual fishing time can be limited and those that get results regularly i doff my hat to, because its far from easy. As one of the guests on my show said "By this time I would usually have coered the entire pit" (we were lure fishing). instead we had fished two swims.
  2. Andy, to me you need to have at least one proper angler as part of the presenting team, and personally i think that two presenters are better than one, because it takes a very special personality to carry a programme on their own. i think the fun aspect is missing too. we dont want the out takes done seperately, show the cock ups and the triumphs, we all know they happen. its what we are aiming for in my series on onlinefishing.tv
  3. Piking 2008 27th September 2008 Stoneleigh park Coventry Warks This years PAC convention looks set to be one of the best yet. New for this year Mark Bailey a professional fly casting instructor will be showing anglers how to tie pike flies throughout the day, and will also be giving demonstrations and instruction on fly casting. The speaker hall will once again be the focal point of the day with some leading anglers from throughout Europe giving presentations. Derek Macdonald will need no introduction to pike anglers. One of the countries leading pikers, Derek will give an insight into how he has caught pike to over 40lbs. Graham Slater has been voted this years Pike angler of the year, and will let free the details of his amazing season that earned him the accolade. Michel Huigevoort is a Dutch angler of much repute, and will show the UK how the Dutch go about catching all manner of predators, predominantly with lures. P A Hogberg is one of the leading predator anglers in his native Sweden and PA will lift the lid on his Swedish style of fishing. And if all of this isn’t enough there will be the mega raffle, the chance to bid on a unique piece of piking history in the shape of number 1 of the PAC30 leatherbound books, new rod releases from ET original and of course the much awaited draws for the PAC events at Menteith – the lake of dreams. So if you are after a bargain, a social occasion or a chance to meet and speak with the leading pike anglers in the UK, then the only place to be, is Stoneleigh park, nr Coventry, Warks on the 27th September. 5. except for the fact that if you snap off you will be leaving a wire trace in a pike, you wouldnt be in a carp or barbel

  9. any chance someone could put it up?
  10. in the sense that when it goes live on oct 1st there will be 24/7 on demand fishing shows many of which are being made in house and are being done continuously.
  11. For those of you who may be interested, theres a trailer now online showing a few clips about the channel and the programmes www.onlinefishing.tv
  12. dont be so bloody ridiculous of course i dont condone what he did, but if you had done it, it wouldnt be spread all over the internet for people that dont know you or have ever even met you to pass comment. And of course everyone on here is as pure as the driven snow
  13. Nige hasnt been with masterline for quite some time and its really nice to know that I share a forum with such paragons of virtue that exist here.
  14. "Some camo clad fat bloke telling us how good he is," Presuming that you are referring to me Peter, not really sure as to what I have done to warrant the insult, but you will be pleased to know that there are plans for a show that pretty much encapsulates your wants, certainly in most aspects anyway.
  15. Your welcome to your opinion mate, but there are a lot of anglers that do want to watch angling on the box, or on their computer etc etc. Hoppefully those people will enjoy the shows, and they most certainly are not quantity over quality, what they are though is centred on the fun that fishing can be, warts and all!!!
  16. most of it will be free but the new programming will be on a subscription basis, not hugely expensive though, somewhere in the region of £20-£30 per year, so a hell of a lot cheaper than Sky, which is nothing but repeats anyway!! There is a good amount of underwater footage, we got some really stunning footage at one of the programme shoots that I did, but it wont be in all of the programmes as it wasnt available to start with and some venues dont lend themselves to underwater filming as there is too much sediment in the water etc. Should be something to suit everyones taste, even Pete Wallers!! Certainly my programme will be more to your liking Pete as its only on predators will find out for you Roy for certain, but i am pretty sure that it is.
  17. And what exactly do you know about this? Do you know for instance that the people filming it are the same people that made the compleat angler for discovery? Do you know that they have been in the business for many years and made many programmes on other subjects for discovery, as well as currently filming the red bull x games for Dave channel? Do you know that the on line platform that they are using to show the programmes is the state of the art platform and gives TV quality viewing on line? Do you know that there are already twenty programmes fimed and in the editing process, all brand new and including some of the top anglers in the country? Do you know that the programmes include the best ever catch of carp caught live on camera? Do you know that it includes some of the most suprising captures that you will ever see on TV? Have you seen any of the programmes? Well I will answer the last one, because I know that you havent, because I am presenting one of the series on there and its been kept very much in house. Rather than slag off somethig that you actually dont know anything about, why not wait till the site goes live in October and then give us your opinion?
  18. yeah right. tackle manufacturers go to the trouble of designing and making specific products specifically to rip us off If you think a £20 dome tent from Argos/ Tesco etc is suitable long term, then best of luck to you as you will eventually have a really miserable night when your tent gets destroyed by the elements. Been there, done that. Worn the soaking wet T shirt
  19. No its not because this one is ONLY fishing, but it doesnt go live till this summer, I know all of this because i am presentng the predators series and we have almost finished series one (of many I hope!)
  20. Just to clarify, the internet TV channel is nothing whatsoever to do with Horse and country and will only be available over t'internet.
  21. but if you wait till the summer there is a brand new broadband TV channel being launched with nothing but new programming o an on demand platform. there will be a minimum of 80 new programmes a year plus imports from around the word. All devised and filmed by the production company that have produced a lot of the discovery programmes including day ticket and the compleat angler.
  22. Rob, basically theres only a small difference, as both are man made, but drains are far older. the main difference is that drains are quite often pumped and can run off quite fast, and they are primarily used to keep the water levels low on the fields around east anglia in the winter.
  23. Big Rudd are still out there mate if you know where to look. cambridgeshire is in my humble opinion the home of big Rudd these days, but you still have to get access to some of the waters, however the drains are also home to some very big Rudd. For the record, all three of these came from the drains and went 2.15. 3.03 and 3.00 exactly. mate of mine had a 3.11 this year from the drains and I have had them from other gravel pits in the area to 3.08
