  1. hi, i have been carp fishing for a year and havn't yet caught anything other than baby and small carp, i am going to fish a fairly big resivoir which is rich with carp on tuesday for 15 hours and i don't want it to be waste of time, so if you have any tips on how to catch a big carp please tell me! Thanks Braderz
  2. The closed season was just to let the fish breed, but recent tests have proven the theory that fishing affects fish breeding are wrong. The tests show that breeding fish don't feed for the few weeks of breeding season, so there is no chance of killing off any species!!
  3. What sort of rod do I need for this, do i need to cast far and what poundage line do you recommend?
  4. Hi, I am interested in garfish, they sound like an interesting fish to catch. What i want to know is when, where and how to fish for them. also which baits or rigs are needed?
  5. Hi, I would always use the hooklengths again until you can spot any major damage then stop using them, i think its a waste unless they are really old and weakened
  6. Hi, i f you really want a cheap rod that will cast those heavy feeders just get a carp feeder........ive seen them for about £30 to £40 have a look at the john wilson debut carp feeder: Height: 10', 11' and 12' Line rating:6-8LB Price:£35 im not sure if you would find this rod useful or not but i thought id reply.
  7. Another thing........ you would have to use 15LB line with the carp feeder rod because it isn't designed for such heavy tackle. [ 26. May 2004, 07:55 PM: Message edited by: Braderz ]
  8. hi, a bass rod is a good idea, but a cheaper way to do it would be to get a carp feeder with a hard tip. you can get them for round about £30, you should look at a john wilson debut carp feeder you can get it as a 10', 11' or 12' rod. the behavour of this rod is nearly identical to a bass rod but it would strictly limit your casting weight to 3 Oz.
  9. yeah, wasn't lead stopped ages ago in coarse fishing anyway???
