  1. sweetcorn, or even better fake sweetcorn balanced with the real thing! unless u wanna mess about with casters on tiny hooks.
  2. i have been fishing to 2 of my local ponds, i had my carp rod set up with a source boily and my float set up with maggots, not alot except 2 tiny roach. this has been the case 3 times in a row now. Y???
  3. I was interested in fishing at age 8 or 9, but never really started until 11, my dad was in to beach casting for mackerel so thats how i started. Shortly after i started coarse fishing, and bait fishing from the shore.
  4. im not talking about how well they fight or how many you catch, or anything in particular. But what is your 'Favourite' course fish, the one that you like for no particular reason. Braderz
  5. Definitly a great catch from a canal!! But I dont always go by the size of the fish i like a quality, healthy looking species, which by the photo i can see its a great looking common. If i was to say a size id say no less than 8 LB and up to 11 or 12. Congrats on the fish. PS. its always better to neil down with most fish as its a long way to fall if your standing!!!
  6. hi, The last eel i had was on a caster, fished over boilies, i had one on maggots asswell. All i can say is just avoid anything small, then there is no way of getting an eel. Ive never had an eel on sweetcorn, or a boily. Simply use a hair rig for tench and carp then there is no risk of eels.
  7. I dont understand the advantages of pole fishing....... someone who does can you please explain why using a pole is better than using a rod and reel???? No offence to people who use them Braderz
  8. hi, Well i dont know much about cornwall, but i know that holywell bay is a surf beach, and bass are always present in the surf. I dont know exactly how close that is to you but i know its not far from newquay.
  9. hi, if your looking for bass then instead of lyme regis try sea town, its full of bass in that bay, because the sea bed has a few sort of craters where the fish like to hang around. you might have tryed it there already, but if not then give it go!!
  10. Thanks for the advice........ but just to save any confusion, that pictures not of me, im no where near that old....... those pictures were just there for decaration really. I will be as careful as i can when fishing for pike...... but id never treat a carp rough, i think all fish deserve to be treated with care!!!! [ 05. 11. I do have an unhooking mat but when i looked for it i realised i had foolishly left it in the car, id rather try my best with the chair than run a couple of hundred meters to the car!!!
  12. Hi, I went fishing with my mate down a small pond in the area for 9 hours, I had the biggest known Carp in the pond which weighs in at 22 LB and my mate also had a 13 LB and a 17 LB carp. We were both very pleased!!!!! go here and view my fish its clearly labelled!! www.hometown.aol.co.uk/djrockdabass/braderzfishing.html Unfortunatly the photo was taken buy a camara phone originally.
  13. Which one do you think is better? Think About it!!!!
  14. hi, i just wanted to know a little info about black roach. Not that there any where i live but i have a fishing game for PS2 that i play when i cant go fishing for real. Its an american based game ...... i think. There is a fish that the game calls a chinese black roach i have been told that it is more commonly known as the black carp. I can never hook the fish as it always takes the bait off the hook. Does anyone know anything about the fish and how the hell you catch it in real life??

    Bait

Carp and bream id use sweetcorn or a small peice of sausage meat, carp go wild for pepparami. for carp you can use boilies aswell and if you like messing around with tiny hooks then casters are good. for Pike you can use a roach as deadbait or livebait if your fishery allows it, a strip of mackeral would work fine too, also try spinning a large bass type lure. also dont forget your wire trace!!!
