  1. my mate has been at me to bring my boat over for a weekend and launch at lower largo, do you know any marks in this area? i have a chart of the area in my plotter, there looks like a few wrecks and rough ground marks, just wondered if it was worth my while before i spend the diesel dragging the old boat over.
  2. got no idea norrie, just saw them last year when i went for a wander when i was over, i'll maybe try them in the winter, hey, i've just looked out the window, its winter now, horizontal rain. i'm actually over in fife tomorrow, my mate lives in lundin links and we are going for bait for the boat match at seahouses next weekend, i'll leave home early and have a scout about at burntisland
  3. hi norrie, have you tried the docks at burntisland? they look quite deep and landlocked like grangemouth just wondered if they would be worth a bash.
  4. its a shame that they have closed the docks at grangemouth but i saw it coming for ages, this was a great venue for young anglers, i took my two boys there on many occasions and the always caught fish, small codling, whiting, flatties etc, i taught them to always respect the owners of the docks by taking our rubbish home with us, they even went around clearing other peoples crap too and it was all anglers rubbish, seabait boxes, ammo mackerel packets, squid boxes and old line complete with rusty hooks and always the ubiquitous mikes tackle poly bags, clubs would turn up mob handed 15-20 bodies at a time to fish matches without permission, this amount of men for a 6 hour match with no public toilets, guess where they were doing it??? sorry for the rant, but this boils my p*ss as a nice safe place where i could take my sons for a couple of hours fishing, almost guaranteed fish, and they can sit in the car if they get cold, has gone, its a crying shame, i know my youngest will be when i tell him les ps welcome to AN dougie
  5. toerag, did you manage to stop your reel jumping out of gear? anyone know why it is doing this because i have stripped the reel and cleaned and oiled it, slackened, tightened the drag, its ok for a couple of drops then .....dunk...dunk...dunk and won't engage
  6. hi chris, i meant mental in the nice way of course, you can't be sane and eat half a dozen mackerel heads in preference to the bowl of biscuits that is in your lobby, but a friendlier beast you could never meet. sorry to hear about your dad by the way les
  7. alan, good to see you had a good time with chris, closest i got to a bass when i fished with him was the ones swimming around in his sandeel tanks eating all the eels and waiting for the BBQ, mind you it wasn't for the lack of chris trying thats for sure. did he show you what his mental dog does to mackerel? dead ones that is.
  8. davy, you should try machine mart for new anchor warp m8, a lot cheaper
  9. hi, i recieved an email from ebay saying that someone had been using my account to make fraudulent bids and when i click on the link provided it takes me to a sign-in page, i have done this and it asks me for my card details which i haven't done, is this someone fishing for my password as i did type it in, the link took me to an URL address consisting of just numbers, i would have though it would have had www.ebay in it somewhere also on the ebay website it is dated 1995-2004, on the sign-in page from the link it has 1995-2003 just a bit worried that someone has my ebay details, but my paypal account should be safe as i use a different password for that. any ideas?
  10. wonder if anyone can help me with the problem i am having with my reel, the drive gear won't engage properly, i have only used it about 6 times and the last 2 trips it works for about 2 drops and then i can't wind in  i stripped it on saturday and could see nothing wrong except a slight build up of salt which i cleaned, reel seemed ok til i used it on sunday, 2 drops and the same old problem i do know a couple of people with this reel, one swears his is fine, the other hates his more than me, worst abu reel ever???
  11. anthony....the coastline is 6 miles south of dunbar next to torness powerstation, you can see barns ness lighthouse between liam and the cuddy on the boat

  17. we are friends and no...no info, too many people digging as it is
  18. yes winter, they don't all bury themselves, BTW you only need 1/4-1/2 an inch of sand and yes diabalos and i know each other quite well
  19. whats that stevie???? getting some other mug to try something you "heard", before you try it your self ;o).... lol les 66(6)
  20. my full first name says i should be prime minister, but the shortened name i use say i should be the back end of a panto cow....better start using my sunday name then!!
  21. winter, don't feed them, if your water is cold enough the go into a kind of suspended amimation and don't move, if they don't move they are not using energy so they don't need to replace it a few years go i was told that you could feed king ragworm by mixing normal fishfood like tetra min in with your fresh sea water but he was a match angler and probably wanted someone else to experiment on their bait (see if it would kill it)before he risked it himself les 66(6)

    Hi

cheers norrie, my email address has 666 in it anyway, so i'm nearly there, i'm glad i have avoided the "initiation ceremony" as they usually involve something jaggy and something small and tight.....erm....so i'm told....ehem!! les 66(6)
  23. i remember one time i had nothing but trouble with whites crapping up the water, but i remembered while we were digging them every now and then a tail would appear out the sand and spray something pink onto the sand, turns out they aren't like normal ragworm that die after spawning, they can breed for years...apparently, though someone might prove me wrong ;o)
