  3. Thursday By christ dale can snore ......too exited about boat session and unable to sleep got up at 03:30 drove into stranaraer to work to get online to check work emails (sad or what) )4:30 went plugging for couple hours in lochryan to no avail next stop tescos for fresh provisions and petrol and back to drummore for a bacon roll Boat launched at 09:00 off for mackie then after pollack which we found had been spooked by another charter fishing the reef at the wrong state of tide and for too long result largest pollack approx 4lb on our boat don't know what snatcher si sitting on here the tope had other things on their minds (? mating early) and Ian's boat only produced five the whole day in a strengthening 4-5 ( LUMPY!!!!)stocked up on a lash of mackie for spanners rubby -dubby me feathering for mackie before i asked " where are they Chis?" Snatcher replys " in the sea mate..........." on shore with wobbly legs why is the room going up and down? to find a cow had taken a liking to my nearside rear tail light smashing the lens  Spike took time at the end of the session to fillet a few mackeral for us, explaning how to present them boneless and like trousers for reluctant kids to enjoy my lot scoffed them down in a flash cheers Spike Friday was a bit of a washout so the tacks went to visit the snatchers in the van we arrived in the midst of a chess challange and kyle took on the winner and got thumped but played a much better second game that game over dale victorious the Labarynth challange was decide with kyle clinching the deciding last game the presentations took place of the haeviest fish awards on the way home stopped at terrally bay to pass on some rag and lug to saint and a blether with him and spanner their session although wet was producing mackeral, bass, tub gurnard and grey gurnard..... I parted with promises of meeting up again in the future. thought that was the end................ oh no saturday loomed with a final session of spinning from the rocks at Ardwell back shore Dale approx 23 fish to chris's 17 kyle 0 caitlin 0 tack4 4 all wee pollack and coallie [ 27. 4. this it what we advised spanner to avoid the tidal malestrom at the tip of the mull me with Chis (left) and Terry (right) with heaviest boat and shore fish awards both pollacks
  5. i can see your point but being in my infancy at sea fishing (almost two years now) and having the kids getting hooked pardon the pun! I would like to see a sustainable fish stock. If we lived in Iceland we would all gladly stump up £20 to fish their inshore waters i'd bet.
  6. more to follow...................................
  7. below terry's foot is the remains of one of snatchers rods that was attached to posssbly the grand daddy of these 6 1/2 lb'rs that beat up on Dale and rod went craaaaaaaaaaack.........
  8. Chris was next up with a smaller fish of around two pound but good sport all the same.... Terry's float dissapeared and the resultant fish was his first ever catch a fine first fish and happy campers all round except me with not even a nibble more 2 lb sized pollack kept getting caught by the lads feltit wasn't going to be my day so time for plan b jelly lures........ yippee i was of the mark with a nice 2lb pollack Terry's rod took a bend no float in site his admirable fight resulted in a fish of approx 7 lb .........disaster on hand lining it up it i slipped and the fish became unhooked .... sorry Terry but it got the prize of biggest caught shore fishas i had touched the fish and leader/snood Chris's turn for a larger pollack again of 6 1/2lb the three lads with the bigger fish minus the one i dropped
  9. the fishing in earnest kicked off on Tuesday, Chris, Dale ,Terry and me set off to my fav pollack mark at the tip of the mull of galloway Weather was spot on if not a bit too sunny as we forgot any sun creams I set them up with sliding float rigs pennel rigged in case of any bigger fish and used large sandeels whole once head cut off. Dales second cast produced his first ever pollack and a fine specimen it was too tipping the scale at 6 1/2 lb the fun had started................... [ 26. 10. If i remember it stated on a saturday with the whitley bay crew descending on drummore first stop the pub ......... we the tack4's went for a visit to find them all in a nicely oiled condition warming to the conditions and tackling up for a heavy session later that evening the Labarynth challenge ( board game that requires a lot of latteral thinking) commenced after two games it stood at Chris (young snatcher) 1 Kyle (little tack4) 1 fair result Chris was struggling with his ability to focus fully on the game but squared the first leg the tack4's beat a retreat and the alcohol consumption continued......... Day Two Sunday Late start after very late finish produced the first few fish of the week to some rather inebriated "lads" think they were mackeral details are sketchy...... More drinking ensued..... Day Three Monday More Drinking ..... some fishing saw snatcher out on a boat with some of the lads and freddie the bass result mackie for tea and freddie took some fillets to smoke More drinking..... result I'm ready doctor would you like a jellybaby!! part two to follow when the real fishing started
