    a wheel problem

Yep i was over the 'cod pit' but what bass? Had a few go for the lure but no takes. As for the trailer problem, That was down to me, Didn't tighten the wheel nuts properly after regreasing the bearings. lost one nut and the other three came lose. a wheel problem

No motorways involved thank god, and did have a spare. Still kicking myself for being so dumb.
  7. Saw that there was a window of oppertunity in the weather for a spot of boat fishing today. Phoned a few people to see if they wanted a trip out fishing. In the end it was just me and my step farther. In the rush to meet the tide I neglected to do my checks properly.(After all the trailer lights were working).I have a 20 mile journey to the nearst slip, but after 17 miles there was a strange squeaking noise from the trailer. The problem was soon spotted after a quick pull in to the next layby. One wheel nut missing and the other three loose . Needless to say the the wheel was F%£$ed. Not to be dismayed, tightening of the wheel nuts and a very carful journey onwards saw us at the slip. The day was pretty uneventfull (apart from me forgetting the map for the chartplotter). We ended up in the estuary spinning for bass where I had many bass follow the lure right up to the boat but no hook ups. Still there's always another day. Basicaly at the end of the day, no matter how rushed you are you should always make time for your checks on the trailer. The journey home took over two hours. Maybe I was being over causious but with a dodgie wheel it was worth it.
  8. I know the feeling when let down like that. It's realy frustrating. I booked a trip with Scooby doo 2 last feb and was let down at the last min by four of the six going. Spoke to the Skipper about the dilemer and he was very helpfull and let it go as a half day booking instead of a full 12 hrs.

    animal rights

Looking around the net earler i came across this site http://animalrightsflorida.org/fishing.html so all you folks that catch fish to eat, stop it now!!!!! your hurting the poor little things. they have feeling too you know. Does that mean the preditory fish must stop eating the smaller fish as well.

    wrecks

How do you find them? looking at the charts and having the gps is fine. not being very experienced at placeing a boat over a wreck, what is in effect a needle in a hay stack with no reference points. The other day i motored out to a wreck only to find a sandy sea bed according to the fish finder. How/what is the best way to make sure that you are on the wreck.
  22. Shame that, it looked a nice boat. just thought it was a long way from home thats all.
