  1. Hi, decided not to goto lindores, instead fished holl loch. Great night fishing!!!!!. The fish were taking the sendge right of the surface. All I could hear around me was rising fish, just wish I could see them. The wind picked up around 3am, and the fish went of the feed, but by 8am the fish were rising, taking the sedge again of the surface. I would recomend this loch to anybody. I had a whale of a time. The fish in Loch Holl are all round the 3lb mark. Thsi morning I had 4fish for 10,12lbs, and thats only what I keept, put 2-3 fish back. [ 26. 5. The best advice I could give to you is ask your tackle dealer, he will be able to advice you on what is best for you. But i personaly would not by a cheap starer kit.
  6. I have a 10' rod and I find this perfect for casting a floating line. How much are you wiling to spend on a rod?
  7. I am fishing on lindores next week. I am fishing a dawn boat, 0200. I have never fishing this loch at this time before, and was wondering if any one had any tips. E.G - Flies, Lines Any help would be very helpful
  8. I have currently started fly fishing as well, my advice would be to find a good flycasting tutor.
  9. Yes needed a net yesterday. Was going to Loch Ore (Scotland) with my fishing club, but we decided not to fish it and went to Stenhouse (Burntisland) instead. I got the first fish of the day, a 2 & 1/4 lb brown trout, and I also won that day. Had four fish for 9 & 1/4lbs, and have got the largest brown trout of the season in are club so far. So turned out to be a very good day. If any one is going through Burntisland then I higly recomend Stenhouse, it is not that big and is fishable from the bank. Some very nice brown trout in the Loch, as well as many 3lb rainbows, which one of the members in the club caught. [ 13. April 2005, 04:25 PM: Message edited by: Robert Mortimer ]

  15. One man's hobby was fishing, he spent all his weekends near the river or lake, paying no attention to weather. One Sunday, early in the morning, he went to the river, as usual. It was cold and raining, and he decided to return back to his house. He came in, went to his bedroom, undressed and laid near his wife. "What a terrible weather today, honey." he said to her. "Yes. And my idiot of a husband went fishing!" LOL
  16. Will write a report after my trip, giving you what I thought of the day. But with this snow on the way I might not even get to the loch. LOL [ 07. April 2005, 07:21 PM: Message edited by: Robert Mortimer ]
