  13. (Extra special thanks to Glyn though which relates to my first mistake. In my hurry to get ready and get fishing I had managed to leave the rear interior light on for the duration which resulted in a terribly flat battery. There was not enough power to sound the horn. So Glyns poor old little jeep finished the weekend towing/bump starting my great big pedunkle van.. Cheers mate!!) no probs with the tow dant, your van looked an eyesaw, i thought it was dumped at the lake anyway thanks to all for the comments, me and terry had a great time as well steve asked me to let you know about my fishing . i arrived at wingham late thursday night because we still had some work to do . it worked out that by monday i managed to get in about 40 hours fishing in all that time ,but not complaining had my best session yet . 28 tench with 2 9's the second being a new pb of 9lb 10oz anyway thanks to you all for a great weekend and many thanks to all the people who gave us a tip it is well appricated . catch ya all later glyn
  14. hi rich ive been using exploding fishmeal feeder from sonubaits , i use it for groundbaiting and as a method mix . all the tench ive caught been on this , but at £5 per 2kg can cost a lot so i mix it 2part crumb, 1 part exploding feeder, 1/2 lake red , can of corn and a hand full of dead maggot . ive seen the feed still active 2 hours after ive put it in. (link to sonubaits ) http://www.sonubaits.com/products/supercru...aits/exploding/ catch ya later glyn
  15. no probs if you want to have a go with mine anderoo . the 1.5 is great for close in work and the 1.75 will put out a large method feeder 80yds without pushing the rod to hard catch ya later glyn
  16. buy the way elton what food will you have , i get a bit hungry after running you around .
  17. Same as at Wingham.Shortly before Glynns first attempt it rose quite a bit and they seemed to swith on.Dont think that snow we had really killed it either! Might be light not temperature as thats one of their major spawning triggers as well? ive been fishing a large gravel pit for the last 20 yrs, each year i start looking for tench and bream around the second week in feb . caught fish when its snowing , frosty , mild. the best session i had was over 100lb of tench over 3 days with a heavy frost each night. the only common factor has been length of daylight hours . weather this is a factor on all large lakes i cant say but certainly works for me . catch ya later glyn
  18. you are compleatly right anderoo ,no small perch under the rod tip just a 3lb12oz
  19. i tend to fish close in all the time ,on the float about 2/3 rod lengths ,ground bait night before then float fish early dawn but i tend to loose feed only in the morning so i dont spook them . also i always fish a slider some swims deep close in. on ledgers i fish feeders ,inline leads or running rigs and at about 30yds max but you need to have a long drop on your bobbins as you could start striking on line bites . another important note the bars at wingham are steep with large stones on top ,if you fish over the back of them you often get a cut off so i tend to fish the facing slope hope this helps catch ya later glyn
  20. its got to be PG for me . there might be a warm spell on the way about the end of the month . time to start looking for those big bream and tench. bad season for bream for me last year changed tatics .played around with different baits and ground bait and got it all wrong but can't complain had a pb tench 9lb 1oz on my float rod ill let you know how its going, before you lot arrive catch ya later glyn
  21. just to add ,bring plenty of tea (glyn wingham baillif and Professional tea drinker) catch ya later glyn
