  1. Morning all. Just a quick note to introduce myself. Rob Foss, live in Guernsey, fish for anything except trout, love catching bream and plaice on my new ABU Premium Bass at the moment. Also do a lot of freshwater fishing, love catching mullet (especially stalking them on crust from the beach in the summer) and freelining for bass- again in the summer from the beach, much better than crawling around at two o'clock in the morning Don't know how it is round your are, but the fishing here is as good as most people can remember it at the moment...great fun. Recent two hour session gave up 4 bream to 3lb, 1 red mullet, 2 plaice and a gurnard...on 1 rod!!!! That's what I call fishing guys...brilliant.
  2. It's VERY regional mate. I would take a light freshwater type rod for mullet, and something like a bass or carp rod for shore work. There are a lot of small bream (hand size) which the locls exterminate in huge number for the pot. It's not too long ago that these formed the staple diet of many families due to a severe lack of money. Where abouts are you staying, do you know yet?
  3. He's just jealous he doesn't live in Guerney where the PROPER mullet live Best mullet 7lb 2oz, and I only fish for them for fun from the beach in the summer. Catch them on floating crust in 2 feet of water in the sunshine amongst the swimmers. Watch them go!!!!! And the mullet Cheers Leon, come over next summer and have some fun
  4. When I was in Florida two years ago, I fished from Clearwater Pier 60. There were soooooo many fish, it was fantastic. I caught all sorts, up to about 25lb...with lots of 1 - 5lb fish. Looking into the water, I could see vast baitfish shoals. All the locals wanted to talk to me about, were the black plague moving inland and wiping out the freshwater bass and trout. It seems to be thought that cormorants are moving inland because of fish stock decimation in our seas...well there were plenty of fish in the sea in Florida and they had still moved inland. I don't know lessons to draw from this, other than to say that al those bleeding hearts who say they are only inland because we have driven them from the sea are well wrong.
  5. Sorry mate....sold. I'll try to delete this if I can
  6. I have to say that I got so involved with the TF site, that I stopped going to any others....look what I was missing!!! So although it was a terible shame that my old site went bang, it has enriched my net time by taking the old blinkers off. It really has been some time since I have been here, and it has developed a wonderful 'community' feel. I shall be along regularly, if you can put up with my waffling
  7. Whizzo Baits and Anglers Net Wish you the best Christmas yet!!!
  8. Hello mate, Rob here from Guernsey. I got some Ashima's a couple of months ago from http://www.tacklebargains.co.uk - even got some still-sealed Ashima line (which I love). Hope this helps.
  9. All being looked at Yinski mate. I don't think there will be any rash decisions made, it will all be thought through completely. Hope to see you in May......... robbo
  10. for about £100ish 27 (at least) games (including Bass Fishing) plus demos + two controllers + fishing rod controller + memory card + Leads and switch boxes to run via pc monitor and speakers without having to take monitor and speakers off pc (runs side by side) + tv leads (RF and Scart/SVHS) + internet lead (but don't use it, it's awful). Most games not in original weak Sega boxes, but in double CD cases instead.
