  1. If you are going to the show there are even better deals. For those not going this is good.
  2. Typical Weimeraner. You are there for her pleasure. With hindsight we thought we should rename ours "Duchess". See yours pulls as well.
  3. Would be interested in that as well.
  4. Now I could carry a camera in SA and I do have the time due. Only problem with this is the real boss mmmmm possibly a Bushmills inspired plot required Seen the size of some their tiddlers hope you have a wide angle lens and brown underwear
  5. Hungry Fisherman Give me my dog back. You havent seen a Visla that goes with it have you?
  6. So it should be the scandinavians are very hot on protection.........so I am told.
  7. Thanks for that Simon. I have a jeep am looking to slide it up from the rear, so to speak. You keep dangling these carrots in front of me and each time I'm to busy work wise to take you up on them. You can see now why I need to get a yak. Its a new job and Im loving it but like all these kinds of jobs these corporate types dont half want their pound of flesh. Dont want someone to carry your camera do you?
  8. Simon definately going to the show now. Thanks. Im not a big guy and like to fish light. Used to be pretty competent paddler just need a bit of practice. Really like the sound of the old Scupper Pro TW. Sounds that, on paper atleast, that it really could suit my needs. So I am really interested in the new one. Difficult to tell from your excellent write up on the other thread but is there much in the length between the Scupper and P13. I know the old Scupper Pro was quoted as being 14'9". Have they shortened it?
  9. Fair point Simon. Not having had the chance to try it was just suggesting a method that has been very successful from the shore. I have so many things I want to try just need a tub to try them from. Soon me thinks
  10. ONly draw back Ive heard of is you have to carfull not ground the paddles
  11. HF agree with specimen. All points west of Poole. Had some nice ones in the Purbecks (sounds painfull) to float fished sandeel. Certainly one of the fish I intend to go for once I get my tub. Let me know how you get on. I intend to try trolling a sandeel behind a bubble float.
  12. Reading this thread has made my stressfull day. I hope someone is going to collect some of the stories and put them all together. Can't wait for next year, might be able to add a tale or two of my own. I think you all deserve a medal just for the spirit it was entered into. A real breath of fresh air. Got to be the most non competitive competition ive ever read about. Probably due to the presence of tidal waves, mud monsters and alien man eating shrimps, more about survival really Excellent!
  13. Enjoyed playing with that. Trouble is weather so mucky couldnt see anything
  14. Green with envy. Got to work, can't even get to the shore to give you some abuse.
  15. Cheers SM. Consider fire held. Lived in the area 11 years might go myself this year for the first time. Tight lines for tommorrow.
  16. IN this apparent never ending quest to find a plastic tub with pointy bits at each end. My attention has been drawn to the Scupper Pro TW. It would appear to be the basis for the OK newbie tested by Simon. If the hull is that good how come I dont see to many being mentioned here. Does anybody use them for fishing. Is the Prowler worth the extra £75 squid. Will the newbie be that much better? So many Questions and so few tides
  17. IN estuaries. Try rag on a float just a couple of feet off the bottom. (fishfinders do have there uses) Had 22 last week biggest 5.5lb on 6lb line. Yee Haa. look at Multimap and try see main channels in and out of inlets etc.
  18. Sorry cant take part this year but good luck with the comp. May the luckiest rod win. Look forward to hearing all those fishermans tales. SM best of luck trying to beat your anchor warp PB
  19. Hi Hake Bit like you completely new to this game. Great bunch though and really helpfull. As it happens Im originally from your way but sussed the distance from the coast problem by moving to Southampton.. Bit extreme and it wasnt quite that simple. Havent got one myself yet but been priveleged enough to give one a try and its at the top of my christmas list. Hope you get one before I do!
  20. HF. Checked out the site. Impressed. As a float fisherman some really good bargains and some floats Ive not seen before. The rod holder seems a bargain. Has anybody tried one. Added it to my favorites.
  21. The blue bellied watchamiflip was a Long Spined Bullhead. Thanks Fishbase.
  22. SM. Didnt go in the end went to the area we talked about before. Long walk over shingle. Over 6 hours got 22 bass up to 5.5lb, 1 eel, 1 bream (must have been lost) and a small blue bellied brown backed and spikey ground hugging thing. All on light float tackle and a neap. Well worth the walk. One of my best sessions ever. Be even easier in a yak. 5.5lb Bass was a PB on a float. It took nearly 100m of line and 20 minutes to land. Tasted great (deep hooked), all the others went back for another day. PM me if you want precise location. One happy chappie
  23. SM Fish Lepe often. Just to the east of the mouth of the Beaulieu River excellent Bass spot. They use the same channel as the boats. The sandbank makes the southern edge of the channel. Use the White Boat house as a landmark. My PB bass came from there. Although I hit it from the shore. (I can catch, honest!) Tidal run on nepes should be workable especially over high. Run on the hole mentioned above can be vicious even on nepes but the selection of species is better. Would be a good test for that anchor of yours. Or as suggested above just drift but it can be snaggy. Good Luck Hope to try Warbarrow this weekend, might just accidently drop into Bournmouth Canoes. SHHH If anybody is out that way and you see some idiot out on the end of the Tout making like a mountain goat paddle over and say hello.
  24. Hi GD As a complete novice I was taken out by starvinmarvin in reasonable chop. Tried both the Caper and Prowler and both were unbelievably stable. To the point where as a complete novice I felt totaly confident fishing sidesadlle in about a force 4. Didnt catch any fish mind But had a graet time.
  25. Wasnt after Mullet by any chance Leon
