  1. i personally dont think using leadcore instead of tubing makes any difference to spooking the fish. i have used tubing for years and caught my fair share. i just make sure that i have a lump of heavy metal or similar at the end of the tubing to keep it on the lake bed. backleading is a must though(in my opinion).i do use leadcore aswel mainly because of the benefits when fishing near snags!i dont know a tackle shop that dont sell the ready mades! fox do them to.i paid three quid for 3 with the clips aswel.
  2. all i know about these fishfinders is that my dad has one with the wrist mounted display and it aint user friendly.it also seemed a bit tempremental but this could be due to lack of experience using it.
  3. oops i cocked that up above, anyways tas is a nice place. i haven`t got any bad things to say about it. my ol`mans fished it for years and he blanked for the first time in a year a few weeks ago.so yep you could say im strugglin with the place. It keeps me eager to get back and have another crack though mate!
  4. That's the nice looking complex nr Norwich isn't it? looks wonderful but sounds like you're struggling a tad!!!!
  5. cheers guys some interesting points there, i`ll carry on with it a bit longer as i suppose its early days yet.
  6. hi all, just bought a biggish batch of belcham butyric acid boilies after reading the hype. i haven`t had a take on them yet and was wondering if anyone else has tried them with better results?
  7. POLLY, been fishing taswood lakes a lot recently and since the on off spawning this year the carp have been on hunger strike. a few of the others anglers have had a few but not as much as previous summers.i seem to be struggling this year!
  8. i agree with bill, the korda videos really open your eyes. they have changed the way i think about whats going on under the surface.i never used to use backleads and had a fairly good catch rate but in the last few years i have no confidence in the set-up if the line is up in the water. just my preference now!
  9. re. taswood, their contact number is 01508 470919. best to book a week or two in advance as they do get busy if you can only fish weekends.heron lake is the best for the 24 hour sessions as its a lot easier than broadwing(the other carp lake.) there are no features as such, a flat bottom about 4-5 feet throughout. most of the anglers fish to the lillies with their boats. some of the baits that work there are `the source,` activ-8, fusion, assassin-8, sweetcorn.on a good day you could catch on anything!only a couple of weeks ago a bloke had 18 carp all doubles in the hours of darkness!! there are a few rules though; barbless hooks,no leads over 2oz, the method aint allowed,no trout pellets, carp pellets in moderation,no groundbait,no particle baits. the lakes are in tasburgh on the way to flordon.£17.00 for 24 hours. hope the info helps i`m assuming you haven`t fished there before!
  10. you could always try taswood lakes just outside norwich. heron lake is prob your best bet there! carp up to thirty pound, loadsa twentys and not too hard to catch. fish tight to the lillies without baitrunners on.good quality frozen boilies end sweetcorn etc etc all work.
