  5. are you feeding? .... very important ... as edd says "little and often" .... your time will come ... i started fishing when i was about 14 ... took me about 4 sessions to catch ... 15 years on and still learning ... fishing lighter with smaller hooks will increase your chances 10 fold! ... if there are smaller fish in your water, try using maggots on a size 18 hook .... you are bound to get bites then! all the best matt
  6. looks like a roach to me mate ... just by the shape of the body and the fins ... ide have more of a hump going towards the dorsal dont they? ... and ide are longer and skinnier?

be careful if its coming from burnley fishing tackle mate .... bought a pole roller off them last month on ebay, almost a month later a different pole roller turns up, and they overcharged me postage by over 4 pounds ... still no replys to numerous emails. Funny they are quick enought to accept payment through emails, but not to reply. Sorry Chris if its nothing to do with you, but seen your link, and it says they are a partner of yours [ 16. 12. use a disgorger for smaller hooks mate ... also barbless hooks i feel are much better when fishing for smaller fish ... combine the two and youll find unhooking fish much easier matt
  13. is that an actual desease then? ... forgive my ignorance (or naivity if being wound up) ... any ideas on the cause or implications?
  14. on a kind of related note ... do you see the little black spot on the bottom right of the pectoral fin (think thats right) .... i have recently started fishing a canal, and the roach are covered in these ... any ideas?

  19. no problem, thought it was a longshot ... the nudster was the first thing that spread to mind after my bird has been winding me up about him and his big cheesy smile for the last few days after she caught me swatting up watching a dvd of his .....i insisted that the man is a legend! .... she however insists he is a gimp
  20. Hi All, New here, and looking forward to making a decent contribution to the forum. Im fishing a match at lakelands for the first time here http://www.lakelandfishery.com/ on saturday, and was wondering if anyone has any experience of fishing it ... i know most people on here are from the UK, but there maybe some Irish anglers, or UK visitors that have fished here ... any advice on methods/tactics would be appreciated. Cheers Matt
