  1. I too have been to quite a few angling shows, some good, some bad and some indifferent to be honest. There's mostly something of interest to be found or had it'd just a case of keeping an open mind. Surely, if nothing else, it's a good day out mingling with like minded people and a chance to pick up some good quality kit at reduced prices. £8 for a day out to me represents pretty good value and given that that includes attending numerous talk-ins and presentations given by some of this country's best carp anglers I for one don't mind paying. Personally I'm looking forward to a good day out with my mate and a chance to pick up a few bargains. So c'mon Rob, no more "Bah-Humbug" mate, why not pop along, y'never know there might just be something or someone there that you haven't "Dun that, got the T-Shirt" for, who knows you might even enjoy y'self. Anyway, anyone else thinking about going? if so Kestrel and Me'll be there for most of the Saturday. Red carnations to be worn by all AN members are the order of the day me thinks Cheers - Phil
  2. OK mate, assuming cheque clears and money sorted I will send from here on Thursday to arrive with you on Friday
  3. ............ anyone going? I've ordered tickets for the Saturday.
  4. No probs buddy, cheque banked Saturday morning, just waiting for money to clear now. Will despatch asap. Cheers - Phil PS - Courier will require a signature, what is best day for it to arrive with you???
  5. Hi James, received cheque yesterday. Hopefully my wife will get to bank today but if not certainly tomorrow morning. Should only take a couple of days to clear so should be able to send pod mid-late next week in time for the weekend. Cheers - Phil
  6. I've got 2 laying flat in my garden but the are my neighbours responsibility to fix so could wait for years !!!!
  7. Excellent, will do bud !!!!
  8. No worries Bud, look forward to your call. Could email it to you if easier??????
  9. No cheque yet James, have you changed your mind? Please let me know in case someone else fancies buying it.
  10. Got mine Saturday, went for the Primus Gravity GAS and it looks like grat kit. Only tried it on kitchen table but burns really well and so easy to start (elect ignition built in). My only worry is someone said they can be a bit dodgy in cold weather, is this right? Not worried about altitude where I live !!!!!! Cambs is a flat and low as it get I reackon.
  11. Climax Tackle (0800 655 6369) doing a good combi deal at the moment:- Wychwood Rage Rod + Freespin 60 Reel for £49.99 !!!! Should leave you about 3p change mate. Cheers - Phil
  12. Apologies for delay, this is a work PC and I'd left for home before you last message arrived. If you are still up for the deal give me a ring on 01223 325034 (before 3:30pm) and I'll give you the address to send cheque to.
  13. James, tried to PM you but yours is disabled, please activate becacaue I do not really want to put my full home address on here.
  14. I'll pay £5 carriage then, no worries yours for £40 . Will PM you my details.
  15. Hi James, Condition is very good, just a few scratches and a bit of ware and tare on the ends of each leg where they've contacted the ground/bank. Everything else is A1 condition and well looked after. Usually washed down after each session and WD40'd. I would send to you (after cheque cleared!!!) via DHL because I get special rates at work and it would only cost £5.00. So £45.00 total, and it's yours. Let me know.
  16. I've got a Fox Warrior, plus front & back buzzer bars and Fishrite carry tube. All yours for £40 + P&P. If interested PM me. Only reason for sale is I've upgraded to Fox Quattro pod and only keep Warrior as a reliable back up.
  17. Thanks Rob, other than bulkiness then are there any other faults/problems. Half price is to good-a-bargain to miss I reckon
  18. Was only thinking about my comfort !!!! I'll probably never get to put a fish on it anyway. See Roy Stubbs post below, like him I like the idea of sides (and lid!!!!) so that fish (HA HA!!!) can't slide off if y'turn y'back for a second or two. Mostly have my camera set up and ready but sometimes get distracted whilst dealing with the fish.
  19. Gonna get one for my birthday but which one????? Seen Epping Fishing Tackle advert in ACF, they're offering JRC High Care Mat for a mere £29.99 which is half price!!!!! sounds and looks like a bargain to be had but being Mr Cautious I thought I'd ask around before ordering one (on wifey's behalf!!!!). Anyone using one of these, the pictures I've seen make them look like the mutz nutz and I was wondering if they perform as good as they look. Think I would prefer to have poly-ball filling rather than foam though but interested to hear from you guys about which mats you prefer.
  20. £6 divided by 4 is only £1.50 a session, can't complain at that. I've done the wet mud and leaves thing, tried rubber gloves and even some special "liquid" rubber glove stuff you rub onto y'hands before even touching the stove. Nothing seems to work, hands still wreek as you sip on y'bovril.......... gas has got to be the way forwrd me thinks.
  21. Thanks Rob, adds another possible to my list. How economic is it to run cos my colemans DF burner is cheap as chips on unleaded petrol. My main concern is the "whiff", I've tried rubber gloves and all sorts to keep the stench of petrol away but it ALWAYS gets on something and invariably it's my baits!!!!!! I don't mind the smell too much but not sure it Mr Carp enjoys it on his dinner plate to be honest. I also agree about fierosity of colemans DF, they do run a tad warm to say the least and burn y'grub VERY quickly, good on water boiling though, can do a cuppa in under 2 mins!!!!!
  22. Hi All, Happy New Year to one n all........ A quick question if you please:- I need a new stove and with my birthday just around the corner was looking at getting one of these to replace my "smelly" old Coleman duel fuel. I know they use liquid fuel but how do they work and how does pressure get built up, is there some kind of valve??? Are they worth that much money or is the cheaper gas fuelled jobbie just as good? Any advise appreciated. Ta in Advance - Phil
  23. Kestrel, How's it going? you weren't wrong, there were 2 cars there when I arrived and NONE when I left @ 3pm yesterday. Another blank for the collection!!!!!!
  24. anyone on Woolpack this weekend? thinking of a few hours Sunday and Monday if anyone wants to share a cuppa and a chinwag!!!!
  25. This is a "WANTED" post.................. I'm looking to buy one of each to match the pair I already own. Basically moving onto a lake tha allows three rods rather than two. Can't afford to upgrade to 3 totally new set ups but figured matching what I already have is best option. If anyone has either or bothof above to flog please let me know. I am, and have been on ebay looking.
