  1. Jeffers - I'm sorry, I meant "Brits and nefarious renegades." Not "Brits and other nefarious renegades." Alan - I've tried pronouncing Adnams, but I'm tu northun ta do'hit rite. A corse h'ide still like ta no the name'a that tee. H'aint 'nglish a'wunder? My personal thanks for the language, even if I don't always know what you're saying. Dave
  2. And here I was, almost (but not quite) thinking about thinking kindly thoughts about Brits and other nefarious renegades: Ya hasta be over y'ear to enjoy microbrew beers and ales, wonder coffees, great wines, and generic booze (is there really a difference between 15 minutes and 15 years?). So what's that tea again? OregonDave

  4. Wasn't it one of your Brit poets who once wrote something like: "They recon ill who leave me out, When me they fly, I am the wings." Boeing couldn't have left off anything important like wings and tail on this one - surely someone would have noticed? Of course, I don't know much about air planes or poetry. DaveK

  8. Dragonbat - I don't know Jack or the others, but I'm prepared to swear on Newt's 40 mph hat, that while running a mail room at Camp Pendelton, California back in late 1967, I ran across the name SCHIDT. Now, how'd ya like wearing that last name in the US Marine Corps? Like they say in Southern Russia, "No schidtski, ya'll?"

  10. Well, no...they just don't know how to translate Imperial Tides into English standard or metric. Think about it. An Imperial pint is what, something like 20 ounces? But how much of this is head, and how much is beer? Makes me think, I think. DaveK

  14. You be bad. I'm going to write a letter of protest to both the British Ambassador and the North Carolina Ambassador to the State of Oregon reguarding your unseemly UTC activities, AND your inability to pronounce Oregon correctly.

  16. Alan - Are you and Newt in cahoots in diss'ing the great name of the State of Oregon? Citizens of Oregon may diss it, since we live here, but not foreigners from North Carolina, England, and such. Of course, its just after 0300 UTC ( ), so I don't suppose you're up and able to defend yourself, or even Greenwich. DaveK

  20. Newt - Alan is complaining he has a 3:00 AM? Better that than none. "Better to have and not to want, than want and not to have". Sleep-wise, that's another story of course! Sleep well Alan, the Yanks are on watch now... DaveK

  22. Well hail boys, Truth in Advertising was covered in the seller's description of, "I don't think the reel was used more than once." Its all in what you want to see, when you look into the horse's internet auction mouth. Been peering some myself lately.

  24. Newt: Ax or axe, a saxophone by any other name... But I was kind of waiting to see what anyone had to say about the article, after I saw it on drudgereport.com. Now, what are they going to find in our water?
