  1. Hi Chris, I've been away from Anglersnet for quite sometime now due to illnesses, so I've just seen your wanted article. I have a video camera for sale which I dont use anymore and its in excellent condition................................... Its a CANON G20 HI 8MM CAMCORDER Hi 8 video tape, 3 new 90 minute hi 8 tapes, 1 original battery and 1 brand new battery, a mains charger cable, seperate battery charger, TV connector cables, remote controle, everything for the camera including case and full instruction book, let me know if your interested... hoppy....(john hopkins)
  2. If its not a combi type boiler, it must be an indirect heating system (cold water head tank, copper cylinder, and seperate gas boiler) your head tank in the loft or in the cupboard that fills the system where the domestic hot water cylinder is, which fills the system up, the head tank could be empty, meaning the ballvalve has stuck and not filling the sytem up. hope you get it fixed tonight...hoppy
  3. Ferg, you did right isolating the radiator, but there seems to be a lack of water pressure in your combi boiler system, thats why the circulating pump sounds if it is running full belt and also the pressure drop will also stop the water inlet valve from opening to ignite the gas for your hot water. Open the door on the boiler, there should be a little dial with a red pointer and a black pointer, if the pressure has dropped the red pointer will be at zero or there abouts, so the system will need pressurising back up to 1.5 bar, underneath and next to the boiler should a little black plasic handle tap connected to the boiler by a stainless steel flexi pipe, open this a quarter of a turn and watch the dial creep up to 1.5 bar, then turn that little tap off, that should have re pressurised the system, but you may have to go round all the raditors and bleed them to release any air thats trapped, and that will drop the pressure again, so you will have to go over the above I mentioned, again. If you dont fancy doing what Ive suggested or not fully understand what to do, get the plumber in and dont try to repair the radiator, get a new one fitted. Im a retired plumber/heating engineer, so I know what the problem is which is basically what Ive mentioned above, any other problems as regards gas valves etc on the system would be too difficult to explain over the forum or phone, and besides, when gas is involved you need a qualified corgi registered plumber/heating engineer to correct or repair any problems with your combi boiler. Hope you get it sorted ok...John (hoppy)

    window

I have a large window looking out onto the garden at the rear of my bungalow, with a few shrubs and small trees and leylandi hedge, so I have frequent visitors to the garden, now I dont want to frighten the wildlife away by rushing into the garden and trying to take photos of them, and I dont have equipment to set up my camera on a tripod and take remote photos, Ive tried to take the photo's through the window glass, especially when a kestrel has come into the garden with its prey, but the photos always come out blurred, no matter what I set my camera to on the dial I cant seem to get a decent photo, and Im only about 30-40 ft away from the subject, is there a special set-up for taking pictures thro a window glass so they dont come out blurred? My cameras a Fuji Finepix E510... cheers...hoppy

  8. Getting back to Newts start of the thread, how about the days of our National service in the army. When a “Squaddie” was put on a charge, either one of these orders had to be carried out... “Whitewash those Coals” “Cut the Grass with Scissors” “Sweep the Parade Ground with a Toothbrush” I'm sure there's many more out there that could be remembered. One instance I recall...... The squad Sergeant inspecting the early morning parade, noticed one squaddie with a “Staybrite” cap badge in his beret, Sarge ordered him to remove it and said, If the army wanted you to wear staybrite badges, they would have issued you with them, then a retort from somewhere in the rear rank, shouted,...If the army wanted us to have “Bulled” boots, they should have supplied us with them. how true
  9. Hi lid, there should be no need to strip your computer to check whats installed. All the installed component instruction should be in the box/packaging when you get it. Motherboard make and instructions, same with graphics card, hard disk, sound card etc. When you first "fire" you computer up, everything will instal. Then you can check whats installed in your system by...clicking on...START....then CONTROL PANEL... then double click on SYSTEM...then click on HARDWARE button...then DEVICE MANAGER... There you will see a list of devices installed on your system, open each one by clicking on the + in the little box, that will show you what is installed...DONT Alter anything AND DONT Delete anything. Just make a note of whats installed and check with what you asked for. There is some software that can check this out for you, just load it up and it does a full sytem check, then just print it out...but Ive forgotten what its called, somebody will come on here and tell you what its called..hoppy somebodys just posted a link to the last part of my answer

  12. Sorry Ste for the late reply, been away a few days. I didnt make any hardware changes or added any, software maybe for the hardware I've already got, I'm always adding updates to my computer from bonafide websites, but Ive been doing that for years, so it puzzles me, why I should get the message up on my screen, unless its a new alert thingy from bill gates?
  13. OK Fellas, got it sorted now ok, there were more options in the popup windows, and went through the web to reactivate without special phone numbers, and a pop up answered and confirmed that my windows xp home had been reactivated. Now....I dont know why this happened, the only clue I got was in one of the messages that said, .....Due to changes in your systems hardware etc etc, you need to reactivate Windows? Anybody else had this message? puzzling....cheers....hoppy
  14. Hi all, I wonder if anyone could help, I keep getting a window product activation message everytime I start up windows XP Home, asking/telling me to reactivate windows, it started 4 days ago, saying, 3 days left, 2 days, 1 day. I registered when I first bought the machine new nearly 2 years ago, so why is it asking me to do it again after nearly 2 years,? its puzzling me. will my puter stop operating if I dont do anything. The other thing thats puzzling is, when I have filled my details in, it goes on to tell me to insert certain tel Nos which are of the european and american type, with prefix codes in the end I just abort and click on remind me later Heres some pics I took of the prob, hope you can see them...best I could do with my camera. Cheers Hoppy
