  1. Its the Other fish I was worried about. But I do take Ur point the chum bag is bloody and has far more scent from it but would the "Noise" from the Mackies not attract unwanted attention from a shark aswell as the sent trail? May be a bit of a wuss about this, but as they say s h 1 t happens and don't really feel like inviting it to dinner. Think I'll Stick with the Cool Box, Thanks Greywulff
  2. Now thats why my net bag has never been used for keeping fish along side the yak! I have used it for carrying stuff but after reading that artical about the Great White..... well what would you do. I probally will use the net bag for chuming but still not so sure about keeping fish over the side of the yak even though that what I wanted it for, surpose I was looking for some of you to say Ah yeah been using one over the side of my yak for years and never had a problem, Reality maybe says that at some stage someone will have a chance meeting with a predatory fish while sitting in a yak . And I have seen the clip of the kayak been flattened by the Killer Whale but I don't think we'd have much problems with them. But whats the worst that could come along side given how small an OK Prowler 13 really is? Blue shark maybe.... Greywulff
  3. Hi all, Have one of those draw string net dive bags, and saw it mentioned in a thread that Lidi are selling them on the 10th of May. Never used it but bought it for keeping fish fresh after catching them. I use a cool box instead. Reason been that when I started reading this Forum I came across this "Thanks Starvinmarvin". And not been used to Kayaks or the sea the net bag went in the back of the wardrobe Thinking of using it during the summer for those short trips where you don't bring the kitchen shink if you know what I 'meen And was just wondering had anyone ever had a close encounter of the fishy kind using these bags? Cheers Lads Greywulff

  9. "I'm booked in for wallet by-pass surgery any day now...because there's more....so much more to buy out there " Well said that Man. There's more than the truth out there Mulder and Scully hadn't a Clue. There is more to buy out there just been on X-Tools website Like the Floating pliers and Dehooker. My Wifes gonna hate you paintfly. Up the Yakkers!
  10. Actually I did search for Nav Lights on the net last year but only came up with those annoying USA Green/Red lights never searched after that. What type of lights have you got and are the batteries self contained or are the lights fitted to the Yak and powered by the 12v.
  11. Its so simple SpeciMan its scary. No more endless trips between the garage and boot of the car for me. I've always been thinking about how I could load up the Yak at the launch spot that I never gave loading the car or worse packin it all away a second though. I'm fully kitted out with clothing, been using the GPS as a compass. Aint got a spare paddle, but I like the Idea of Lights Cheers Steinbeisser. Thank Greywulff
  12. Hi Steve, Haven't seen the Big Game, BUT: I Tried out a Drifter early last year before I bought the P13 angler obviously I didn't like the Drifter, The EXTRA room ain't worth talking about and I don't think the width would ever come into play on the water as I find the P13 very stable and I'm not 6' or slim I'm 5'9 at a stretch and 15 stone, I haven't up ended yet but I just know saying this means I will on my next outing. Anyway if Muskets right about the Big Game been similar to the Drifter I wouldn't bother. Stick to the Prowler's I think they Rule, but then again that's just my opinion. Greywulff
  13. Hi All, Just had a thought I have a Prowler 13 Angler kitted out with fish-finder, GPS, marine radio, Scotty rod holders, C-Tug trolley, camera mount, crate for carring stuff with flag pole and flag, anchor system, Pocket Lip Grip, safety box with mini flares, strobe light additional batteries, water pump, Pdf and not to mention fishing tackle. Bank Manager Hates Me Wife ain't got a clue But what if there's MORE there is always more. I haven't got money burning holes in me pockets. But what other Gizmo's and gadget's are out there. Wasn't gone on the anti aircraft gun in an earlyer thread. You have brought me this far Please don't tell me I'm at the end of the road. Any of you got interesting or unusual aids or devices to aid us in KAYAK FISHING "before the dodgy replies start" Please post and photos would be deadly, something you've made up even. CHEERS Greywulff
  14. Hello, Berkeley Pocket Lip Grip Purchased one of these last year and found it a "Don't leave home with out" sort of thing. I did snip off the wrist band it came with and added 5 foot of that green paracord and a brass key ring clip. When fishing I clip it to an eyelet around the edge of the cockpit and secure the Lip Grip under the free paddle keep bungee so it is near to hand. I've used the lip grip to grab onto lobster pot ropes to fish from. Grip bottles of minerals to keep em cool in the water. To tow my P13 behind a lake boat. And it's also great as a Catch & Release tool But seriously it is ideal for unhooking fish in the water and we are so close to the water that I have gripped fish by the bottom jaw letting them and the Lip Grip off into the water to recover while I've got out the camera, obviously making sure the other end of the paracord is connected to the kayak first. Fish won't escape from it as it has one powerful spring. You won't open it. On E-bay they work out around £15-£18, shipping included. Not like the Boga Grip have you seen the price of them WOW who pay's that? Added this link for anyone interested, hope it works! Berkeley Pocket Lip Grip Happy Yakin, Greywulff
  15. Thanks Simon, Won't be keepin her on the ground of the garage after that. Greywulff
  16. Cheers, I was just worried that it could damage her. The hatch will remain off in the future while in dry dock. But there is small dry water marks on the out side of the hull like u get on a car even though I've towel dried after washing her. Could that be from the salt water? Greywulff
  17. Hi Chaz, You wont regrett taking the plunge. I won't lie to you its expencive to get into and to get to the pimp out level some of these guys are at will cost you over a grand. Its cost me over €1500 so far but thats for everything Fish finder, GPS, Rod holders, Wetsuit, P13, Paddle, C-Tug Trolly, Safety equipment Etc. You should start with the basic's the Yak and saftey equipment, you have to justify all the rest of the stuff to herself. I used safety as a means to justify GPS and the Fish finder and I bought all the rest by blaming the Higher Archy on this forum every time a parcel landed Sorry Guys but it worked for me. Last Xmas I didn't know that a Yak was a boat always though it was a large hairy woolly foreign cow thing. So don't be afraid of been new to the Yak world these sit on yaks are easy to get the hang of and with some safety equipment are perfectly safe. Couple this with a bit of fear and some good common sence and you should never go wrong. Convinced Yet..... No then picture this.... You're shore fishing off a ledge of rocks it a little overcast but lovely and warm the fish should be bitting but you've caught none. Whats the first thing that goes through ur mind..... "If only I could cast that little bit further!" Then comes another angler who is full of advice "Critic" ur using the wrong bait, colour, rig or if u were hear last week you would have caught. Sound familiar. What happens but u go home fishless with ur head wrecked from listening to S**t. Now if u had a Yak u could fish out as far as u want or as close and all those inaccessable spots that have played on ur mind "Bet there's fish there". No Critic blabbering in ur lug givin u a . You'll be free to do ur thing and all u will hear is the sounds of the ocean coupled with some good weather it won't matter if u catch fish, but I'd bet you will catch a lot more fish. Good Luck in whatever u decide. Greywulff
  18. Hi All, With the past spell of really hot weather we've had my P13 seems to be struggling with the temperature as it appears to be sweating, I've washed it after salt water trips with warm water and a little fairy liquid. But it's still at it. Is it normal for this type of plastic or what am I doing wrong? Info gladly excepted, Thanks Greywulff
  19. Nice One Mick! Beautiful Best of luck with it. Greywulff
  20. Nice tip Simon never would have thought of that. Cheers, Greywulff
  21. Just picked up two Rapala mag's CD14's in Blue Mackie and Silver off e-bay. Seen a CD14 green mackie if your interested vidcon. Searched for Rapala Magnum at ebay.com Price is £8.65 seller's name is josephrogersuk bought from this guy before. No Prob's Was ur mackie a CD14? Greywulff
  22. To the Panel then. If you could pick one trolly what would it be? As I need to invest, cause they aint half awkward to carry. Greywulff
  23. "The Missus" is like ur yak. When u first get them there the best thing ever. You get them accessories to doll them up abit. You play about with ur rod with them! And so on. But the Yak will always out do "The Missus" for one reason. U can trade in the yak for a new model any time. Try that with "The Missus" and u'll be in for a life of Greywulff
  24. I have both boats in mind. Deep diving lures for the Kayak and anything else for the downriggers, I just get a bit bored with the whole ledgering bait thing " not that it doesn't work " but you are more involed with downriggers on the boat and even though the kayak seems a bit mad, I think it could be fun dodge but fun. I'll let u know if I succeed with the kayak. Cheers lads u've given food for though. Greywulff
