Thanks for the advice lads. We are just having a friendly practice match there Tuesday so the pike wont be on the agenda but will try for them on a pleasure day. The two lads I spoke to at the venue said that it was pole for silver fish but I had heard there was bream and tench in there. So I will try the advice of Dave and Andrew and hopefully get a few. But as has been said it looks a lovely venue so wont be too bad even if I dont get many bites. Will let you know how I get on and as its only about 7 mile from my house I think I will give it a few visits in my own time. Cheers again for the advice Kev

Hi has anyone fished this venue in Lincs? Would appreciate any info on the water as I am fishing it on Tuesday. What works best feeder for the Bream or pole for the silver fish? Thanks for any advice Kev

That sorted the problem. Thanks very much for the information. Kev

Can anyone tell me why my outlook express has suddenly stopped being able to access links in the body of the text. Any email I get with a link in it doesnt work eventhough it is blue and underlined as it normally was. Kev

Just got e-mail back from Maver. £59.99 for top two! I only paid £150 for the pole. Looks like i'll have to make do with what I've got. Kev

Went for an early evening session yesterday on my local river (the bain)and had a brilliant few hours. I caught roach and perch. I had my pb perch of 1lb followed the next cast by a 1lb 2 oz. The fishing was great despite the overgrown weeds and trotting a stick down a few clear runs did the business. I even landed a jack pike which wouldnt let go of a perch for love nor money. All in all a lovely way to spend a few hours on an evening.

I'm off to the river Bain to trot a stick with bread flake for some chub or tench. Looking forward to it as there is never anyone else there and its only a few minutes from my house. I'm on night shift tonight but will try for a few hours before going to bed. Kev

I usually use 6lb line while feeder fishing so I think this is sufficient for the task. Thanks jeepster will try your advice I guess its just practise makes perfect. Kev

It happens mainly on overhead casts when I try to give it a bit of power to get further out. Thanks for the gen I will try lenghthening the line between feeder and tip to see if this helps. Cheers for the advice. Kev

Hi I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on casting a feeder. My problem is I dont seem to get much distance on the cast and if I try to increase power I get crack offs. I am wondering if I am doing something fundamentaly wrong in the cast. How much line is recommended between feeder and tip on the cast I usually have it quite short(10 inches). I can usually get the direction but my casts vary in length so dont know if I am releasing line too early or too late. Does anyone know a good video for feeder casting techniques as usually I find it easier to understand things if I see them being demonstrated. Cheers for any help Kev

Got to agree with above Bob Nudds Illustrated Guide is brilliant for beginners and experienced alike. I use it all the time for reference and how to do things. Kev

Hi I was wondering if anyone knows of any online or "proper" magazines which I could use to get ideas for my HNC Electronics Project. I have a few ideas but would like to get some ideas and how likely they are, by seeing some ideas in print. Thanks for any gen.

I was listening to an interview on 5 live on this issue and it appears to be a non story blown out of proportion by the media (no surely not!). The UK when it comes to a final vote on this matter can block it with a blocking minority. Which by all accounts they already have the votes in place to block it. I am still amazed by how much mileage euro scare stories still get these days.

Thanks lads I think I'll go with the avon rod just down to the flexibility it will give me. Kev

Hi I was wondering if anyone on here can recommend a good feeder rod. I am looking for a multi tip that I can use with lines from say 3-7 lbs. I am in the £100 price range. I am presently considering buying the John Wilson Signature Avon System Rod at £65 but would appreciate any advice on similar rods. I fish commercials and rivers (mainly Witham, Derwent and Bain) and like to fish for anything as long as I get a bite (lol). Cheers for any help. Kev
