    malibu yaks

i have to add a few comments to this thread that seems to be headed down hill (i only started it to express how pleased i am with the yak) basically the guys from oz(and ken from malibu) helped me,and others out when the problems with stuart arose they were not the people selling to me and with out them i would have no yak and no money they are not the uk dealers they are australia and nz so there comments don't help themselves financially so i think some of the comments are a bit harsh ,i would of been well and truely ****ed with out them on side it does seem a bit odd that people making comments about malibu are jumped on but not if comments are made about ocean kayaks?
  6. as soon as i get a chance will take some and post on here
  7. well the x finally got here and as there was a carmer day took her out for a quick play countnt get in the sea ,to big a swell for a first trip so went to my local estuary ,to start with i paddled into the current to see how hard it would be to make headway against (current running very strong, the bouys were being pushed nearly under!!)and have to say even with a slow stroke rate moved slowly against it without to much difficulty with a faster stroke rate moved no probs .and with the current wow you fly. next i thought i would try to find out tracking and turning ,all i can say on tracking (even with my crappy paddling technique)wow its on rails .and as far as turning gos i was pleasantly surprised not super quick but very doable(but i suspect a rudder would be worth having). next i thought i would have a bit of fun testing the stability so started by crawling all over the beast ,no probs getting anywhere on it front hatch ,tankwell ,etc .the primary stability is great really inspires confidence , so with the reports of wide yaks not having great secondary stability i thought i would test and see sat side saddle and started to tip it up to try and find the point of flip ,well i had this thing so far over the rod holders were filling up with water ,and i started to slip of the side ,and still no sign of this thing tipping so i would say the secondary stability is great. all in all well happy will add more when i have another chance to play. i have to add thanks to shawn at fishyak and ken(malibu )for sorting things out for me

  18. just to let you know reverseing polarity on a light bulb makes no differance it still runs at 12v .it will just run brighter and hotter (will burn out a lot quicker).
  19. as far as the portable licence gos i rang ofcom a few weeks ago and was told this will also be free as far as using the vhf yes what you say is true, its just as others have already stated is it really worth risking lives with incorrect use for the sack of £80?
  20. i dont think thats right (no offence)i think both portable and fixed will be free and you can print it off your self from the web site its just if you want them to print it and post it to you it will cost
  21. sounds good the malibu should be here toward mid/end oct
  22. hi mate to be honest i use multipliers for most jobs but when using fixed spool i prefer rear i find it a lot easier to adjust when i have a fish on ,hope this helps
