Camcorder- editing video files

If any one can help me I would be eternally grateful. I have spent many hours trying to get round this problem. I have a canon DC201 camcorder which finalises a mini disc into a VR-movie format.

My problem is this.

The mini disc will play complete on the TV and PC but when i try and open it on the PC for editing Nero, Pinnacle, Roxio. and videolan doesn't recognise the format.

Ha! easy I though All I need is a video converter.

I downloaded AVS media and a few more since to convert it a usable format but they only convert the first scene shot or file.

Is there a way round this?

I think you MIGHT be stuffed mate. What you really want is a camera that records to tape and has a firewire port so that you can get a DV file from it.

Pop the DVD in your PC DVD drive and let us know what files and folders you can see on there. Can you see a folder in the root called VIDEO_TS?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
Vaut mieux ne rien dire et passer pour un con que de parler et prouver que t'en est un!

Hiya

Thanks for your help

Its a strange one IF you use a minidisc R it puts in a vr_movie format. A RW puts in a TS_format.

I think i am a step nearer as i downloaded a programme called VideoReDo which is supposed to recognise VR_Movie files
