Good grief, how did we ever win two world wars?

 

I know, pathetic isn't it! Surely by now we must realise that in Britain, in winter, it snows. It must be possible for life to carry on. There's really no excuse this time, we've known for about a week this was coming.

 

I get a bus into work, which goes through some windy B roads before getting into Oxford, and that managed it OK. Cancelling every bus in London is a joke, I'm glad I'm not part of that nonsense any more!

Yeah, not often enough, though. If we could guarantee heavy snowfall every year, we'd spend the money and be prepared. As it is, those with their hands on the public purse strings have obviously concluded that it's cheaper in the long run to do nothing and put up with the occasional disruption .
