yes you can use them on a hair the best way to prepare them is to pre soak them for 24hrs min (i soak mine for 48) then boil for 30 mins for smaller nuts and 45 for large then empty into a bucket and leave for 2-3 days in a warm place.

Is your Dad trying to hook them straight onto the hook?

why not buy them already done for you to start with and see how you get on ,i believe the frenzy bait ones in a can are good .that way if they work you can move on to prepareing them yourself .cheers big al

check out the dynamite baits range there tigers are brilliant. i use 2 mini tigers on a hair rig fished over a bed of chopped tigers and hemp, all ways works for me

i dunno how many places do it but my local tackle shop will prepare baits for you, like tigers/hemp and other particles. i think this is a really good idea and is a nice cheap way of doing it. ready for when u arrive at the bank nice and fresh
