do your carp spawn?

They don't spawn every year up here in Scotland , but maybe "down sarf" they could. I am sure it went ok this year , even up here.

Up here in the NE we do have some waters where the Carp manage to spawn sucessfully, but these are usually inland fisheries. I don't know of any of our coastal waters having sucessful spawnings.

 

Our problem is maintaining the constant water temps for the period required for the eggs to hatch. Plus we have very few waters where Perch are not present, & as Steve pointed out they are very relevant to Carp fry survival as they often hatch 4-5 months prior to the Carp.
