I started a session on thursday morning planning to fish untill sunday managed a 13lb common at 5.00pm on thursday the lake started to freeze over nite so i put the rod tips below the surface and had another smaller common at 1 30 am from under the ice. Followed this up friday morning with a 17lb 12 oz mirror as the ice was thawing and had my fourth another mirror of 9lb in a snow storm also fom under the ice which had formed again friday nite around 12 pm pulled of a day early as the conditions were detererating rapidly what are your experiences of fishing frozen lakes recently and what bait and tactics are you finding most effective as you can imagine im well chuffed to catch in such crap freezeing conditions. All fish came to the left hand rod fished in 8ft of water on a fluro home made wafter fruit flavoured 12mm boiie with a very small pva bag of pellets

Intresting....what size water you fishing, and what are the stocking levels?

All the pits around where I live have been dead as doornails for weeks!
