As anglers should we be concern about Fluoride ?

There has been a lot in the local press about Fluoride being introduced into the water supply in the Southampton area.

One thing that i have not heard debated, is what effect will this have the rivers, if any ?

Naturally occurring levels in rivers are typically up to 0.3mg/l, but can be higher. There are parts of Britain with naturally occurring fluoride levels in drinking water in the 1-1.5mg/l range. Standard level for fluoridation of drinking water is 1.0mg/l.

I wouldn't think it a big concern, dilution is going to mean that in most cases the levels will be within the range that normally occurs.
