I'm unfamiliar with the waters mentioned here, so what I'm about to say may not apply, but why anyone would want to pay inflated prices to fish overcrowded small waters is beyond me. Clubs offer far better value. Particularly good - and I've no connection here - is RMC Angling (ex Leisure Sport); their Group Waters permit offers more waters than you could fish in a lifetime. Regionally based, admittedly, but fantastic value for those who live within a reasonable distance. Other good-value commercial organisations around, too (Mid-Kent, Linear etc.), all offering much nicer environments than the vast majority of day-ticket venues. The waters I've mentioned may be more difficult than the shoulder-to-shoulder day-ticket waters but, to coin a phrase, "You pays your money (literally, in this case)and makes your choice."

Absolutely. I don't live anywhere near any RMC waters but looking at their website they have a fantastic collection of lakes.

Also agree about club waters. Not only are they cheap (well the Exeter and District one is!) but they offer great value for money. Considering I only pay £29 a year I don't even feel the need to do all my fishing on their waters but it's great to know that I can when I feel like it. Once I've paid the one-off fee it almost feels like I'm fishing for free when I fish one their waters!

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.
