single strawberry pop up. no freebies fished about 5yds away from one of the islands.

funny thing is i was reeling in to re-bait and thought i'd snagged bottom when the fish woke up and took off like a steam train. arm was killing me when i finally got it in the net.

How high did you pop it up mate? I never have any luck with pop up boilies..

did'nt do anything special.

just used a nash ready made pop up threaded on to a normal hair rig the hair was about an inch and a quarter long with a small split shot about a quarter of an inch behind the boilie.

Great fish though, plus it looks a nice stretch of water.

 

As for me, my next session is likely to be towards the end of the month as I'm signing off tomorrow for just over two weeks for a quick jaunt over to France. Sadly I'll not be taking my rods.
