Can a seller charge twice for delivery? I'm told the item needs to be signed for. "Sorry mate if you are unable to sign we charge to redeliver". I'm in Leeds on Tuesday but he doesn't do local pickup.

Jeff,

As i understand on a signed for delivery if you

are not in a card is left for you to collect from

whatever depot.Should you not collect within the specified time the item is then returned to sender.

The second delivery would i guess then be chargable.

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

I get this all the time.

As a business, I don't generally charge for redelivery.

However, it is a major pain in the backside and, really, I should charge.

Fact is, he will be charged to deliver it again. If sent by courier, he may well have been charged a considerable sum to have it returned.

If the listing stated that it was by courier or a signed for service, I'm afraid I'm on his side :D

As for collections, there's no way I'd sit around waiting for somebody to turn up, either, unless stated in the listing.

PS I am not the seller of the item Jeff bought :D

I agree with you Elton to a point. I wouldn't want to be waiting around either. Service from Royal mail is tolerable. Standard opening hours are terribly inconvenient. Our local PO is open 0930 to 1230, 1330 to 1730 mon-wed and fri. Closed the rest of the days.

I'm off the subject but I think he IS the courier or has a few drivers. I'm thinking he may have been screwed a few times from the tone of the conversation.
