And Cooling Marshes was where Magwitch, the escaped convict in Great Expectations, surprises Pip. The action in Oliver Twist takes place in London. I'm starting to think you're winding me up now, Alan!

Some of this was a wind up, but some of it was due to having an abiding dislike of Dickens - and as a result something in excess of 32 years of refusing to read any!

No......! Dickens wasn't particulalry risque, but the names of some of Trollope's characters were really funny.... Mr Quiverfull, a father of 11 comes to mind. That could be conceivably risque if you have that sort of mind.
