Can somebody recommend a supplier for both the 49-strand and the titanium, please? Must try them.

49-strand. Friendly Fisherman have the ET 49 strand...nice stuff. Dont think they have a website. Address is in Tunbridge Kent. Most decent fsihing tackle retailers can get you the ET range.

Newt I think that's the stuff, although it has a number of trade names. A company called Malinco seem to be the number one wholesaler of the fishing wire. The product is called Malin Boa
