Email I received says this was a pitbull but I think it's more like a bull terrier.. Still I've had the luxury of pulling quills out. It's not fun for either party. OUCH!

I would have thought after getting the first dozen quills in it's face it would have done a runner.

I have no idea to be honest. This wasn't my dog. I'm sure it had a visit to the vet. I wouldn't want to try pulling them out while it was awake.

 

The interesting thing about porcupine quills is that as much as a year later you can still find a few. Apparently the vacuum inside can pull the quill through the body.

 

We've had them travel the length of the dogs head and then eventually pulled them out at the base of the skull.

 

Should use him for the Lucky advert..

It reminds me of the early morning I saw a rat and an hedgehog knocking hell out of each other.

It was a tight scrap but eventually the hedgehog won on points :D
