Hi Andrew and welcome to Angler's Net.

Sea or fresh water and what general section of the country do you live in?

Advice for the norther section of Scotland would be a bit different than for southern England for instance as would advice for fishing a canal as opposed to fishing from the beach.

Hi Andrew, welcome to AN.

You'll have to forgive Newt, he's from across the water and probably never heard of our home town. ;)

Leeds is in Yorkshire Newt, it's (I think) the 4th or 5th largest city in the UK. :D

What fishing are you into Andrew, I might be able to help. (As long as It's not carp or commercials).

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Hi,

Just waiting for my tackle to arrive.

But I am going to start at clayton ponds or meanwood.

Just need to get the rod licence sorted and season tickets first.

Hi Andrew,

I haven't fished either Clayton ponds or Meanwood for many years, so I'm not much help as to how they're fishing now.

I have heard that there is some concern about the future of Clayton ponds. With the building that's going on around it, some are concerned that they might be filled in, though others say not. It would be best to check before going up there with tackle.

I'm sorry I'm not able to be more help, but if you post about it on the coarse forum, others might know more. Any general questions about tactics, methods, even the basics can be answered by either using the 'search' facility at the top of the page, or asking in the coarse section.

Don't be afraid of asking what might seem 'dumb' questions either, we all have to start somewhere, and we don't bite. (well most of us don't ;) )
