well hello people , ok then can anyone suggest any good coarse venues in or around the winchester area as i've just moved here and looking to get out with the tackle?

There are free stretchs of the Itchen in Winchester itself. Not far downstream of course there's Lower Itchen Fishery and another free stretch just down stream of that at Mansbridge.

London Anglers Association have a day ticket stretch of the Avon near Sailsbury, well worth a trip and not too far from you.
