The term cannal float is just a guide. I would assume that these floats will be made for depths of up to 6 feet and will be usefull for lakes and even some slow rivers of that sort of depth unless there is a stong wind. It will all depend on the size of the float rather than the discription.

Looking at the picture they are good quality floats, there is at lesast one pattern there that I have in my box. I cant make out the sizes though.

What fish are you after, what is the depth of the venue you intend to fish and will you be using the pole to hand (IE with 6.5 to 7 meters of Line)?

If you are fihing to hand you will need to go for a heavier float at least 1 gram and the selection you were looking at may not be of any use.

Does this pole break down or is it all telescopic?

If you are using a whip to hand, I have always found tiny wagglers to be a better choice than pole floats.

If you are using a 7 meter whip to hand and the depth is one meter you can fish out up to around 13 meters using a small waggler.

If you are using a 7m whip to hand in 6 meters of water a pole float will be a better choice as you can shorten the length of line between flick tip and float to around half a meter and will have better control over you float.

If your whip has take apart sections pole floats are a better choice if fishing at 7m as you can shorten your rig down to suit depth and break the whip down as you ship in.

Different floats for different folks!
