Would this work for bass?

Hi all,

fancy getting a couple of Bass sessions in this week while the weather is good but can't be bothered to dig worms so was looking for an alternative to tossing a dexter wedge in and reeling it in.

I was thinking if I was to use some line with a lead on the end but 5 feet up the line, support it with a pike float between a pair of stop knots, then between the float and the lead, use a couple of helicopter type rigs with a decent hook through the head of an imitation sandeel.

My thinking is on a slow retrieve, the lead would keep all this nice and tight and fairly vertical in the water with the sandeels fluttering nicely in the current?

Fancy a go you reckon?

If you're fishing reasonably clear ground, try this ....

bit like Henry's slow deep spinning for pollack.

Slow deep retrieve if poss.

Works very well for bass in the Solent estuaries (from the shore).

Beware Nursery Area Regulations for boat fishing!

Small rubber eels from 5 - 7" work for me in natural or white.
