Today's BBC Radio 4 'Home Planet' programme contained an in depth item arguing for the banning of lead shotgun pellets, with discussion on the effects of lead in the environment.

 

With Angling facing a complete lead ban due to new EU laws (for environmental not wildlife reasons), this programme will be of interest.

Thank god the water we fish these days, we don't use shot..............or floats. We freeline. Nice big piece of meat or sweetcorn or bread or chum mixer on a size 8 and flick it out. bingo. I bet the hook weighs more than a micro shot!

 

Seriously, I'm sure there are "weighs" around it!
