Let's hope they all get sent to prison for a very long time! Idiots.

That's the problem with the commercial sector - you get a few greedy gits like this and it gives the entire industry a bad name.

It also puts into perspective what negligible (and even that's too big) an effect imposing any kind of limits on rod and line anglers will have on the grand scheme of things.

nicked this from somewhere else.

quote

The court heard that each of the three boats was capable of catching 1,000 tonnes of fish a day. They did not even have to land their catches at the harbour as a supply pipe took the fish straight from their onboard storage tanks into the factory.

Last night, Hanson Black, chief executive of the Shetland Fishermen’s Association, called the court action “unprecedented”, adding that the men had already started to repay their debt.

“It’s a fairly confusing situation whereby the men have clearly admitted to breaking the rules but have already had restrictions placed on their quotas so, in effect, are paying for the breach,” he said.

A spokesman for the SFF said the Shetland incidents had been “unfortunate” but had no bearing on the escalating row about mackerel quotas.

I Like the words used in mittigation of: unprecedented court action ( hope so)

and it's a 'confusing' situation ( yer right)

This news is a continuation with regards to that other pelagic boat that was caught, the Altaire.

These boats can cause so much damage to the quota system, to cock it up for the majority of the commercials, and for the rest of us who have an interest, so that is the reason why i think they should be made to repay it all and more.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

The Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency discovered the crimes in 2005.

Advocate depute Peter Ferguson QC, prosecuting, told the court: "The criminal conduct being prosecuted here is the making of false declarations by individual skippers."

Then what ? they adjurn for another 5 year ?????????

"The legislation is to protect the marine environment for the good of all and to safeguard the fishing industry."

Ah i getcha
